DWC / Ebb & Flow question

I'm preparing for my next build and right now I have a Ebb & Flow system its a 2x4 tank set up.

However I was thinking of buying 2 more 2x4 Ebb & Flows and use those for my flower room, or I could do 12 DWC with the res tank on the out side of the tent---makes changing nuets / ph a lot easier for me.

But question is, if I vegged with Ebb an flow can it transfer to DWC? Or should I just buy a new DWC and just do it all DWC?

You can't have a reservoir on the outside, unless you buy a rdwc. With dwc the roots are constantly submerged in a no light, low temp. (about 68F or 20C degrees) heavily aerated container. You might be able to covert your ebb & flow if you meet all those criteria's. :peace:

I use a DWC system currently. My last grow was an ebb and flow. DWC is the way to go if you have the aeration to support it. I recommend 10 watts of air pump (minimum) per plants and 1 airstone per plant(positioned directly below the roots that dangle in the water). Root rot is your enemy and the way to combat it is with heavy oxygen. There is NO SUCH THING as too much oxygen to the root zone, and the more you add, the faster your plants will grow. The reason that ebb and flow is so effective is because it creates that heavy oxygen flow by using a water pump and physics. Water comes from below and has to displace the air that is taking up the space around the root mass. The old stale air that the plants have been feeding on gets pushed out of the way, and when the water level retracts, fresh oxygen comes into the root mass, making ebb and flow very effective. Deep water culture is better because it is constantly supply the root mass with fresh oxygen via your air pumps and all the nutrition the plant wants because its sitting in the nutrient solution. I personally keep my water level about 2 inches above my water pumps in my DWC reservoir so they can continue to work, but you need very minimal water levels in a DWC. sorry about the huge post.
