dwc first grow...mold

So I tried my luck at dwc and i didnt succeed not because of my actions but because of my genetics. I took cuttings from a mother plant that was sharing a room with sickly plants but had totally forgotten about it until recently my plants started showing symptoms of this grayish mold that appears from the stem. I took these clones a month ago and they've been in dwc for 2 weeks. The first week I fed the plants some cal/mag but as the week progressed it seemed like they were getting this mold that my previous plants had i think it might be powdery mildew, but maybe someone knows the name of it? so now 2 weeks in to the dwc i feel i have to end it and cut my losses. If anyone has any input i would appreciate it.

so its not your fault that your plants were in a room with a sick plant? How is that genetics?

Grab a book and research how to do a DWC, it will help in the future.
