DWC germinated seed..

hey i'm starting a dwc grow haven't tried it before but i was wondering if you can just place the germinated seed in the hydroton and spray it with water?
some people say to use rockwool but i was wondering if it's necessary.. the seed popped a few days ago and the cotyledons are showing..

I would think that it would be ok, and i guess it is, considering that they popped lol

Rockwool just makes everything alot easier.
