hey all some of you might know me and others might not
i have grown soil for all my grows and have it pretty much down pact
anyways going to try DWC shortly here and got a few questions like nutrients
for instance do any of you still use fulvixes and humixs in your water reason i say this is when i see you guys posting pics it seems like its just water in your res and when i fed my girls in soil well it looks like this ya get me i plan on still useing my line of hydroponic nutrients
any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

A lot of nutrients that are soluble in soil aren't so for water.. for example straight molasses doesn't do well in water but is fine in soil.

I'm running organics with microbes this go around.. and we'll see how that works.. but I'd suggest starting out something easy, synthetic (chemical) and maybe two part.. like the GH Flora series.

Hey i agree with VO for once, start with something real simple, general hydro is a good start, then work up to more complex things like organic hydroponics, we won't get into that discussion here, but simple is best.
But to answer your question, no nothing natural that you are used to using, just straight water, nutrients and your plant.
May i ask however why you are making the switch, i recently went the opposite way, from hydro into soil and think i am much happier with it.

i will still be doing like a 4 plant scrog in soil but just tired of the mess of soil and tired of big grows in general
I wanted to down size Bigtime and just grow a few so figured why not try DWC

A better nutrient for DWC is the Dynagro line, really bloom and some Protek is all you need. The ratio's are spot on for MJ and the bloom is the most concentrated formula on the market as it has more P and K in it than any other line out there.

Lots of DWC folks make the mistake of using products that say they are for hydroponics but really they are not. If you have organic sources like UREA for example and you are running a sterile res like most are recomended to do for DWC, then you will starve your plants as none of these organic materials are available for plant consumption. You need bacteria around to break it down and make it available to the plants as food.

Unfortunatly, most DWC enviroments do NOT support bacteria life and there is VERY litttle knowledge about the subject from the manufacturer's themselves, Advanced Nutrients is one of the worst and is really made for soil/soiless enviroments and not hydroponics even though they claim to. They actually claim lots of stuff that is just not true but that is another story for another thread...

We tested almost every product on the market in a 8 year period and found mineral based formula's work the best for DWC plain and simple......

Find and use a mineral based nutrient or either have a setup that will promote and maintain a microbiology herd (biofilters).

My first hydro grow I used GH 3 part with floralicuas plus and it was dark like what you have there...everything turned out good so welcome and good luck on your grow...

You dont need much bacterial life in DWC thats why reservoir temps are so important. I grew DWC for a few straight years strictly DWC and you have to keep that water cool under 70 degrees unless you are pretty knowledgeable with beneficial bacterias and what not.

Same thing I did and yes the Floralicious Plus does make the water dark and stains the roots.

Advanced is one of the worst you can use in DWC. And water temp is not the deciding factor in pathogens. We tested almost every nutrient on the market over a 8 year period. Advanced did the worst as it contains UREA for a nitrogen source which is not available to the plants until bacteria breaks it down first. So if your running sterile in DWC AN Sensi line is not a good choice. A mineral based COMPLETE nutrient will always work the best.

We also tested water temps extensivly and found you can go up to 75F with no harm except less O2 saturation levels. That is really the only benefit to running cooler water temps is the increased saturation levels.

And poor O2 levels is what causes an anerobic condition that will lead to root rot. That and the misuse of products that are labled for hydroponic use when in reality they are NOT acceptable at all really.

There are MANY myths and misinformation floating around the net and on these forums especially in relation to RDWC systems.

That is why we started doing are own testing including bacteria culture testing and the information we found or rather the amount of information we found on forums that is false and just plain nonsense was astronomical!!! It really is shocking to see how much bad information is out there.

Cheers!

SO having cool water is bad information in DWC?

Water in a RDWC shouldn't be over 70degrees. I would suggest using DM Gold for your system. If you don't already have a system and are new to Hydro I suggest going with the ProGrow system. It is a shallow water system and is a easier and more friendly to use.

Do you have a link to the ProGrow system? I love my swc, or current culture system, love to see what people are coming out with on a commercial basis. SWC is tough as the bubbles try to escape the water immediately and not make it to all the plants......
