Dwc-ppm ec?

I'm running single 5 gallon buckets. Water just right below the net pots so about 4 gallons. Using 0ppm ro water. Sexy white roots exploding in each res after a battle with root rot that I won a few weeks ago. What do I feed my girls ec and ppm on the. 5 scale for veg and then flower? Right now all my girls are working on there 3rd nodes. Fed them real lightly at first. Adding .4 etc of calimagic then 1/4 strength nutes from general hydroponics=micro, grow, bloom, then I add a weaker dose than recommended of GH rapidstart, then hydroguard. Then I PH my red between 5.5 and 6.5 usually in the 5.8 to 6.2 range. Wondering ec and ppm ranges for DWC. Keep finding mixed reviews online, they all say different stuff. Help advanced dwc growers please :)

use your ppm/EC meter to tell you how much to feed them.

if at 0.4ec and it goes down alot, then up the feed maybe by .2 to .4
if at .4 and it goes down slightly, then you are close
if at .4 and it goes up, too strong for them

I'm asking how many ppm or ec you feed in veg and flower?

I understand that too. But there has to be some kind of legit answer like for example you can veg anywhere from 200 ppm to 600 ppm. Flower in between 600 to 1200 ppm. Ec for veg .6 to 1.2 ec for flower 1.2 to 2.1. that's just an example not real numbers.

Right now my plants r growing good. I just don't want to make the mistake of overfeeding. So far they all look great between 400 and 500 ppm in just a few weeks into veg. Wondering if there were any reliable charts on ppm and ec

not to be a smart ass, but there's your chart for veg and bloom.

my point is still for you to use your meter and come up with YOUR chart for veg and bloom.

so instead of saying my plant looks good at 400 to 500ppm,, tell me this instead.

day 21 ppm 449 pH 5.92 water temp 68F

day 22 ppm 421 pH 5.93 water temp 68F

day 23 ppm 401 pH 5.93 water temp 68

see, now i would tell you your ph and temps are perfect, but i would raise up your ppm to 600. dropping from 449 to 401 in 2 days. tells me that it's too weak and needs be stronger.

see where i'm going with this? grab a notebook and a pen and start your own veg and bloom chart. make sense?

I started my own data log last light to see each day what changes. ec, ppm, ph, water temp, humidity and room temp. And then write if I had to pH down each plant. Good idea keeping a log. Now I'll be able to read my plants and control what ppm they want to be fed by looking at my log and seeing how much there eating and if I need to adjust or not.

bingo.

keep your pH somewhere b/t 5.5 and 6.1
avoid root rot
and a slight daily drop of your EC means you are feeding your plants perfectly
it's when it goes up or drops alot that you need to adjust accordingly.

I thought I seen online it said between 5.5 and 6.5 for hydro was good? I ph down it to as close to 5.5 as I can get without going under tho as it slowly increases over a day or two. So I always aim for 5.5 or 5.6 when I ph. If it starting going down instead of up I would do the opposite, go to 6.5 then let it drift down. But usually ph goes up in my case

Read online that calcium can get locked out with ph under 6.1 in hydro dwc. I have some little brown spots that seem like calcium deficiency to me on the lower leaves. I feed my 0ppm ro water to 200 to 220 range which ends up being .4, then add micro, then grow then bloom, then rapid start, then ph down to 5.5 since it rises a little every day and then wait a bit for the water to mix the ph well before adding the hydroguard. How many ppm (500 scale) of calmag or how many ec of calmag do you run with your ro water? Just curious. I think I might be adjusting my ph to low maybe that could be causing it. I read online 200 ppm or. 3 or. 4 ec was good for calmag before adding nutes.

what i think is happening is that your EC is low which means it contains less cal than it would if you were running around 1.0.

so i would add a normal dose of cal/mg to your RO. as the plant gets bigger and you starting running stronger nutes, your need for cal/mg will go away.

explaiined another way (just made up numbers)
at .4 ec, your solution contains 40 ppm of Cal. in the first 2 days, your plant eats 35ppm of that cal so for next days, you don't have enough cal for their needs.

make sense?

what is your nute regimen right now? like in 1 gal of water, how many mL of micro, grow and bloom?

My ec after mixing nutes with the calmag is in. 9 to 1.0 range. Been using a teaspoon of micro, grow, and bloom per 4 gallons of water so 1/4 strength. Then I add a teaspoon of rapidstart for the 4 gallons and then ph it to 6.0 for veg. Then add 2 ml per gal of hydroguard to prevent rot or other problems.

i'm not sure about your 1:1:1 ratio of the GH ? what week are you in of veg or bloom? and how big are they? what schedule are you following?
