Dying Branch

My plant was loose and wobbly at the base and during a strong wind I think it may have broken some roots. Only one lower branch seems to be affected and it looks like it's dying. I have stabilized the plant. The plant has been budding for a couple of weeks. Should I trim the branch off or leave it? I'm afraid trimming it might put the whole plant into shock.

I snapped trunk on very mature plant ( had it staked down when trying to move it.....smart guy I am). Wrapped duct tape around gaping wound......healed up quickly and blew tape right off.......there are rugged f'ers.
