Do you the its possible to tell the percentage of indica sativa there is in a plant by counting the number of leaf blades along with width? I mean I have some shit from Humboldt I've been growing for years it has five very fat leaf blades. But then I have some other shit thats for sure pure indica from Humboldt that has like 14 blades and super wide leaf. I don't think you can tell anything from the number of leaf blades... What do you think?

It was explained to me that blades, or 'fingers' is indicative of plant's maturity/ happiness/ strain.
I have as few as 5 on some, and as many as 8 on others, and have heard of 9 and 11, but I think today somebody asked if 14 was a record.

Nah 14 is not a record I've had leaves with 18 baldes before. What I'm talking about has nothing to do with the age and health of the plant think about it in terms of a plant thats 7 weeks old from seed and in perfect health. That plant will have the max number of leaves and will have the plants average blade width. The reason I'm bringin it up is because I just saw this little chart in a book called the cannibis grow bible and it pretty much contradicts everything I know about it which is that it doesn't matter how many blades are on the leaf but that you can tell from blade width. Just random stoned comtemplations nothing else really. But since I'm getting into breeding as of late I'm trying to figure out which of my my strains has the most indica in them so I can crack more seeds to get males. I have a lot of strains and clone moms all from seed and I have a few males that I've been selcting lately I just finished a cross of Sensi Seeds Durban X Ken's GDP. I got a lot of male from my Ken's GDP pack so I kept two and I've been pollinating a few branches of all my strains as I go. I know the GDP has way more indica than the Durban so that should be good, and soon we shall see.

... by smoking it? Yes. Leaves are only a rough indicator. With hybrids and all, you can even get different appearances from sister seeds.

I dunno what the little cartoon guy is supposed to mean but for you children who have never lived in a world unpolutted by computers and digital crap what that means is I had that plant with th 18 leaves like fifteen or twenty years ago before they made digital cameras and basically back then it was taboo to photograph anything.
On the otherhand I was thinking I might have had one of those leaves pressed in a book so I just went through like almost a ton of books looking for it but no dice. Oh thats right you guys don't use books any more you use computers and tablets and shit. Well see a book is this thing with paper and writing and....

Hrm, considering I have never even HEARD of an 18 blade leaf, much less ever seen one or had anyone else say they have seen one, you better believe 18 blade LEAF if rare.

The most I have ever seen is 13.

Baaaahahahahahahaaaa...Gold!!! Baaaahahaha, thats hilarious that you checked the books. It would be awsome to find that leaf by accident one day with the grandkids. Try not to crack an ear to ear smile when that thing hits the floor :)

Ii had 13 leaves on a red dragon, but had to throw it away in an emergency tear-down of my grow..and echlectica, trolls suck! Seems every other discussion in this classroom is some bully stressing his small weiner instead of helping learn about cannabis...I feel if you got a short, thick leafed quick finisher..prob mostly indica...tall lanky and long to flower..sativa,and a meld of any of these could give you an idea..if its tall thin leaved and finishes early,id give it a 80-20 sativa-indica..and so on...but the stone is the real truth..I have never had an indica make me wanna do anything but eat and drool..lol..sativas the exact opposite.

I don't have a hard time finding a book, I just don't think I have the leaf anymore. The books are readily accessable for their information or entertainment value. I can read a book when there is no power ever after an EMP attack. Got books on gardening and how to do stuff? If not whatcha goona do if you need to look something up but the power grid has been wiped out or for whatever reason you can't just flip a switch and tap some keys and find what you want? Books are excelent reposotries for information and are really more accessable than the internet and free.

well sure most plants these days are hybrids ..so you could have wide or thin or anywhere in between. Some plants even have a combo of wide and thin.Pure indicas and pure sativas are not really found to often ,i would highly doubt you have a pure afghan or pure haze
