I've started messing around with organics in my Coco grow on a couple of my plants. I'm adding about 20g of 1-2-5 Seaweed extract and 5 grams of malted barley powder per ten litres of water, in addition to potassium silicate and a GH micro clone. It's only been ten days so it's too early to tell, but the plants seem to be doing fine so far.
In this recent heat wave, my bucket of nutrient started foaming a little. There seems to be no real change in runoff pH since this happened, so I don't know if it even matters. But I know that Earth Juice recommends aeration + aquarium heater, and there's probably a time limit to use this stuff up. But I also think it might just be the sugars from the barley getting fermented out and the seaweed might not need bacterial action.
Any advice on this increasingly goofy venture?
