Earthy planty smell?

im currently around 10 weeks into flower. about half and half amber/white hairs. seeing some amber trichs. the buds are still airy and you can kinda smell some skunkyness but mainly when you get up close to smell it smells planty. is this normal? or bad genetics? or what. will it get better with curing or if i let them grow some more. im goin crazy here lookin at my plants waiting every week to harvest but then they arent ready. and the smell is really concering me.. please, any advice?

What Genetics are you using? Nutes, growing medium, etc?

^^^ we need to know more factors. The bud density issue could be a lighting issue. What lights are you using. How far from the plant?

Using 4 48" t5s and 4 48" t8s. T5 almost touching the plants on top and t8 on both sides. Using tiger bloom. In miracle grow. And the seeds are from some bomb bid I got.

you know what im currently growing WW x BB femaleseeds.nl and we are at 6 weeks and some change into flower. I am using 2 150 watt hps on 3 plants, and they have got some seriously fat ass nugs covered in shiny crystals. Here is the thing- there is no weed smell at all unless you jack off the stalk and sniff your hand. It smells like some dirty ass socks or some shit. I think some weed just doesn't smell 'skunky' so don't worry about it.

Airy bud due to lighting is my guess. The smell is unknown genetics (the biggest culprit). Is the mg soil pre nuted (might still contain alot of nitrogen)?
