Sannie's Herijuana is claimed to have a level of THC up to 25%.

Notice I added the breeder's name. It is always good to do that since so often times there are genetically different strains from different breeders that carry the same name. Plus it always makes it easier for people to find something if they look for it.

And something else, THC levels do not mean nearly as much as many people believe them to mean. It is the combination of, the ratio of, the proper mix of THC along with other cannabinoids, terpenoids and flavonoids along with other elements in cannabis, many not yet understood. Cannabis contains more than 400 compounds. There is good evidence to show that secondary compounds in Cannabis may enhance the beneficial effects of THC, while other cannabinoids and non-cannabinoid compounds may reduce the side effects of THC. Terpenoids and flavonoids found in Cannabis have been shown to exert beneficial effects as well as THC.

"The Dutch Masters' know that THC sells because the masses do not understand what actually creates a high or a stone. They want you to believe that it all, or mostly, depends on 'octane' like gasoline, but that is not true.

Some years back I was given a Durban Poison cutting, that if I remember right came from Hemcy. Also if I remember right it was rated at only something like 12% to 14% THC .... but friends who smoked it were totally blown away and said it got them much higher than the strains they smoked with higher, sometimes much higher, reported levels of THC.

A potent high or stone comes from a combination or mixture or ratio of various elements in the proper amounts that will best work with the level of THC a strain has.

Yes THC is important, but it has become a 'Madison Avenue Advertising Company-like' hype tool to sucker in the masses who do not know any better than to believe that reported high percentages of THC mean that you will love it.

Isn't White Widow only like 13% THC?
That stuff knocked me on my ass.

Since there is Black Widow, the original White Widow that Shantibaba renamed after he sold his share of Green House Seeds and took his genetics and opened Mr. Nice Seeds, and then there are about 35 or more genetically different knockoff 'White Widow' strains and some F2 versions that is not the best strain name to use as an example.

Some are mostly indica and some are mostly sativa and their flowering periods range by as much as 20 days and more and their reported levels of THC cover a wide range from around what you said to about 22% to 23%, and that is of course assuming the accuracy of any reported levels of THC. Which by the way are not only THC but also non-psychoactive THCA combined. Since non-psychoactive THCA is what becomes THC tests assume that all non-psychoactive THCA found will turn into fully psychoactive THC so even though that might not happen THCA is added in and part of the percentage so any percentage given, unless totally inaccurate or just plain false, is what someone COULD end up with IF all the non-psychoactive THCA does become fully psychoactive THC. It's called calculated active cannabinoids.

Going by relative ratio active cannabinoids THC levels turn out to be VASTLY lower. An example of that is how the THC level of Super Lemon Haze varied under both forms of testing:

Super Lemon Haze CANNABINOID PROFILE

Calculated Active Cannabinoids

CBD: 0.63%
CBN: 0.27%
THC: 23.98%
CBC: <0.01%
THCV: <0.01%

Relative Ratio of Active Cannabinoids

CBD: 0.25%
CBN: 0.11%
THC: 9.64%
CBC: 0%
THCV: 0%

Total Assayable Cannabinoids: 28.2% Total: 24.88% Total: 10

I had the GHS version. I never had the original. Been smoking 20 years, and never came across it. I'd like to. It seems
like every breeder has WW these days.

You have some pretty informative posts there Brick, I have read through a lot of them. Long before I created an account.

I guess Arjan is having a difficult time trying to decide on what THC percentage to claim his version of 'White Widow' has. A while back it was advertised as being 18%. Now he's claiming it to be 20% to 25%..

is the most potent cannabis on Earth and is named for the abundance of trichomes, giving the plant a whitish tint. It is also one of the more powerful strains of marijuana (alongside AK-47 and Afghan Kush) with a very high 20%-25% THC content.
[/URL]

He's also claimed to have been the person who bred the strain, the person who created 'White Widow' and that Green House Seeds and only Green House Seeds has the real true 'White Widow.' Evidently that claim did not fool many people. For a while there was a video on Attitude where he flat out said he created 'White Widow,' but it's been replaced by another video. You can still find the video where he incorrectly claims that 'White Widow' was; "his invention" in 1994 - 1995 can be found on the Green House Seeds site http://greenhouseseeds.nl/shop/feminised-cannabis-seeds/white-widow-feminised.html ... at 1:34 into the video he flat out says; "my invention, 94 - 95" and then goes on to claim that it has been; "stolen by many other seed companies" and moments later the inaccurate claim is made that Green House Seeds has the only and only, the true original 'White Widow." Arjan has a bit of a problem when it comes to honesty.

If you want the real deal, purchase Mr. Nice Seeds Black Widow.

I'm not gonna knock GHS "WW", it was a good smoke. Is it the best? No. Is it the best I've had? Absolutely not.
I've had some land race sativas that is much better. But it was good nevertheless.

I do have the original WW, or Black Widow on my list of things to grow someday. I am new to the indoor growing, I am
on my 1st indoor grow now. Grew outdoors since 1993. I have grown Big Bud (not too impressed, yield was good though)
Northern Lights (lower yield, but good night time smoke) Skunk (not sure which one, got the seeds from a friend, this
was like 15 years ago, good smoke, decent yield.)

I am ordering seeds in a few weeks. So far, I am looking at C99 X A11, and C99 X NL. And maybe Chimera's Mental Floss.
Maybe on the last mentioned. Any suggestions for a first time indoor grower? I am growing for my insomnia, arthritis,
back pains, and neck pains. Quality before yield. Forgiving to beginners.

I'm a lover of true sativas too .... you might want to check out this site for some ideas on what might help with your various ailments. http://www.medicalmarijuanastrains.com/strain-guide/

I would have looked and made a few suggestions but I think they must be updating or maybe having a temporary server problem because the page would not load for me ... but wait a while and give it a try. You can also Google for medicinal marijuana strains and find other similar sites and dispensaries. They would a better place to look for information than a site where most people are mainly looking for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride instead of medication.

In my opinion, can't neat a pure Sativa. I spent some time in Mexico, some years, and, although, most weed was garbage, but if you knew the "older" crowd
of stoners in the city I was in, they has some top notch smoke. "Sativa Puro". Not sure the "name brand" but it was definitely not for beginners.

When I started toking there were some very good Mexican sativas and they were plentiful at the time. I would much rather have a few of those than the modern crosses most people salivate over.

Mexican weed can be very underrated.
I'm guessing you're my age or around, maybe more. I haven't heard too many people saying that.
Pure sativa is good stuff. I hate that stuff that makes me sleepy and lethargic, unless it is intended
for that. I do have insomnia, I can go 3 days at a time with no sleep at times.

I'm 56. I began toking when REAL POT ruled the U.S., when getting high actually meant getting 'high' and not getting stoned.

Sativas rule
Indicas make you drool.

You got me by a few years there Brick.
My body is older than my actual age. I am only 34. I am pretty decrepit though.
It's a shame, because I used to be in excellent shape not too long ago...
I like indica for going to sleep. I like Sativa for functioning during the day. And that
is what is impotent to me. And Sativa is just a better high for me, in my opinion....
A sativa/indica mix isn't so bad. Just as long as it doesn't put me to sleep.

Brick Top thanks for all the information. I was wondering in your opinion what strain and breeder has the most potent marijuana for pain and insomnia. Also what is the best for daytime smoking?

I agree with you both on sativa's.
As a novice indoor grower I had always thought you harvested sativa's when 1/3 pistils changed, but some one mentioned to me to harvest when you first see signs of change with sativa, when THC production is highest.

Them were the days Brick Top...but then I discovered Vietnamese and the picture changed. So I am sceptic to say the least of the Mekong High strain.
As a veteran I remember the plant looking indica, short, and stout. Many breeders are calling this indo-china strain a sativa. Any info.
I have four vegging and the leaves appear sativa but with broader leaves.

Keep me posted Maximus...I like the leaf, although a sativa it does look a little indica.

hmm, i think i understand what you are getting at, its all based on the ratio of cannibinoids: tetrahydrocannabinol, canibinol, tetrahydrocannabivarin, cannabigerol, terpenoids and flavonoids?

it just matter what chemical compound is in that strain?

so if you had a strain with 14% THC, 1.9% CBG, 1.3% CBN and 0.9% CBD would basically put you on your ass compared to another strain with just 21-25% THC without the extra canibinoids?
