Effect of lighting schedule mishaps during flower

Well 2 ouf 3 days I went and fucked up the lighting schedule.....second week of flower. They ended up getting 15 hours one day, 12 the next and 15 today. How much of an effect, if any will this have? I know I've read a million times about it making plants go hermie but are the plants really that anal?
I think alot of times people blow shit way out of the water.
I do have a timer, my other half however will not allow me to use it. She has heard somewhere that timers cause 90% of fires in grow rooms. I know if you're using a buck store timer she may have a valid point..... anyways, what are some thoughts on the lighting schedule fuck up?
 
No it’s fine you are good. It takes a lot more stress than that to cause herms. It is true crappy timers can cause a fire; you need a decent one. Digital units are safer than mechanical style timers but without one you will never get through bloom phase. Get a timer that is heavy duty and intended for outdoor use; I use something like this...

You can also get a thermostat that will cut off the power in the event of fire or very high temps. May be the safest way to go for your situation.
 
I had the same issue BUT WORSE...my damn timer malfunctioned and the lights were left on during flower for almost 2 full days...I caught it today and am going to leave the lights off for 24 hours to get them on a new timer. Super sucks but hopefully the resiliency of the plants will win out. I'm currently in week 4 of flower so time will tell.

i would just go back to the 12/12 lighting and miss out the 2 days of darkness a second time
 
just carry on as you are 12/12, keep everything as normal as you can. that will put or keep them on track again. so dont fret
 
Alright man I'll trust ya....just put in the new timer and got em back on. 8pm-8am so they'll shut down tomorrow at 8am. Fingers crossed they'll be good to go. Thanks for the advice.
 
I've used tons of mechanical timers over the years and no fires. That said, mechanicals are more prone to failures, so I'd go digital.
 
Yeah I had digital but something happened where it wouldn’t work (probably user error and lost the manual so fuck it) but went with one I’ve had zero issues with in an outside fountain so I trust it...and trust myself to stop dicking around with shit and leave it alone...set it and forget it
