I'm moving into a new house it's a 3 bedroom 2 and a half bath with a full basement.

12 1000w lights and 5 t5's is the goal, is it possible with 200 amp service? at this time i'm not even sure if it has it but assuming it does. i run hydro and would of course have about 20 fans and 6 or more inline fans.

i really don't know much about this side of growing and will of course have someone wire new outlets and breakers but just want idea's with the climate here flip box is not a option i want to go with because i like running at night for cooler temps.

The house has a nice big central a/c unit as well and 240 for a not in use hot tub.

thanx in advance for any or suggestions.

Not at all!

since you already have large breakers in 240 wire available to you, I suggest you use that and just get to light controllers, like the Helios 7 and the Helios 4.

you'll need to run 8 site controller off of a 50 amp breaker in the 4 site controller off of a 30 amp breaker. I check the gauge of your wiring first.

If your ac is already hooked up, just deticate a 20 amp for fans, pumps and dehumidifier.

any more questions let me know

You could do it but heat is going to be an issue the central air isn't going to cool your room enough unless it is exclusively in the basement and not ducted to the rest of the house your going to need some of those amps for either portable ac's, mini splits, or a central ac for just basement. Only reason I know is because I'm in a 2 story with a basement and TWO CENTRAL AC'S one for each floor with the bottom floors going to basement as well and I have 3 13000 btu portable ac's in a room with 6 lights and a 10 burner generator

If you "don't know much about this side of growing" why are you trying to jump into a 200 amp hydro grow in your basement?

That's what I was thinking lol...

but some growers aren't technically savvy.

I've learned electrical, HVAC, plumbing all by myself.

in my honest opinion, if you do go through with this,I suggest ditching thecool tubes and fans!

Get a dedicated mini split. 3- 4 ton probably lol depending on climate, maybe even 5-6 lol. (They make those?)

Thanx for the advice and reassurance, i have ran 4 1000's for 4-5 years and like i said just getting a new place, i learned a little bit of hvac, plumbing and now trying to get some electrical knowledge, i'm not gonna attempt this without professional help but some knowledge from guys who have done it is gonna help me get a idea so i don't get taken to the cleaners or end up with service that is not gonna work for what i want to do.

I have 2 15000 btu portable ac's already but another friend had suggested the mini split and i have that in my budget if need be.

Your lights will pull around 90 amps. That's the flower and veg. In assuming 8 bulb t5. Then your gonna need 6 tons of hvac to cool that room. That's gonna pull atleast 20 to 30. Then your oscillating fans I'm guessing around 12 of them (one per light) is another 10 amps. Then your inline fans n other shit will easily be another 10. So your at 130-140 amps. Leaving you NOTHING for the rest of your home.

Flip flopping two 6k flower rooms is the ONLY way if your gonna live their too.

Way better off doing two 6k rooms either way!

They have controllers with an automated option like that, one side half day each

I know i saw it after i pushed enter but could not edit it.... hey it was like 6 am and 10 dabs deep:)
That excuse will get you forgiven for a lot around here!

Most homes in America are wired for 100A. Upgrading to 150A is usually pretty simple, higher than that and it gets complicated very quickly.

150A should be way plenty for running 10 kW of bloom lighting on each side of a flip schedule plus veg and ancillaries.

You can do the 12 lights if you run at night and don't use the house Ac while the lights are on. I am doing more then 12 on 150 amps . Just not all at once
