Electrician help please!!!!!!!

HEY I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN GIVEN A 220W REMOTE ELECTRONIC BALLAST CFL
BUT WHEN I TURNED IT ON IT WAS QUITE DIM AND WAS TURNING OFF AND ON,
THE BIGGEST TRANSFORMER WAS ALSO MAKING A NOISE BUT THEN TURNED OFF THEN A MINUTE LATER IT STARTED MAKING THE NOISE AGAIN THEN STARTED SMOKING.
I AM NO NEW TO ELECTRONICS WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE KNEW WHAT MIGHT HAVE CRAPPED OUT IN IT, CAPACITOR,DOIDE,RESISTOR ECT ECT.
ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED THANKS

Please if anyone knows what the main failure in electronic cfl ballasts???

I am no electrician. But alot of the times with cfls like that when the bulbs go bad they can get dim flicker or just go out. And they always will give you that slight buzzing noise. Just frome experience I would say it's ur bulb. I have never had a small CFL ballast like that take a shit on me. I am maintenance man and deal with that kind o shit on the daily. Good luck.
