Electronics repair

I've got an old central unit for a surround sound system, but the volume slider doesn't make good contact. It will cut off the right side until I take the cover off and jiggle it a little. Is there anything I can use to make the slider contact better. I was thinking of spaying some WD-40 or some kind of oil into it or something. It just needs to contact with the right side a little better. It's not hard to fix when it does it, just annoying.

Any help is appreciated.

not wd-40!!!!
go to radio shack and buy some stuff called "tuner tonic".
it may go under a different name now, but it is just pot (potentiometer) spray.
i have used it for years to get rid of the crackling noise that the knobs on my amps make.
you could probably find it at a musical instrument shop too..

it really works!
just spray it in and then work the slider back and forth.

Fucking sweet, my knobs on my bass are starting to crackle as well. I didn't know they made stuff for that. Do you know the approximate price?
