Elevation organics summit soils ! Loving it!!

Hey brothers an sisters ! I am working with new soil I usually mix my own but the "Basecamp " summit soil from elevation organics caught my eye. So I called them up an ordered 20 bags. I am glad I did . Now with 20 more bags coming I am ready to reccomend this product . Just fill the bottom of you container with stones , gravel or peri lite for the first inch. Fill it up with soil straight from the bag and transplant ! I even planted seeds direct with great results!!

What ingredients are amended in the soil?

Coir base peat moss Aged Forest Humus, Earthworm Castings, Earthworm Bedding, Kelp Meal, Alfalfa Meal, Fish Hydrolisate, Plant Protein Hydrolisate, Fish Meal, Fish Bone Meal, Crab meal, Shrimp Meal, Langbenite, Glacial Rock Dust, Mycorrhizae, Beneficial Bacteria

looks to be 18.00 for 1.5 cu ft at hydrostores around denver. you can get ahold of them direct at the email an the customer service is great.
the mix is thick i must stress an takes a little getting into but the growth it sustains is head and shoulders above "roots 707" alone without all the smell.the crab meal is nice + (outdoors i may mix 707 and summit
I have many more up to date pics to add to this post tomorrow. (after lights on) the soil seems to compact as the castings an bedding seem to have cocoons that are active. worms popping up alot and that is nutriet cycleing i like! so far so good 2 months into this soil....

i use their coco/perlite mix in a drain to waste hydro setup and am very impressed. hugeeeeee growth. have a jungle on my hands now. if you get the coco/perlite mix the only thing i advise is to ph buffer it out first and you will be fine.

Hey JoeDank what store did you get this from? I have been emailing and calling these dudes for 5 days now. Hiw do I get ahold of them? I need 20 bags of soil and I cant get em to respond. I am starting to think they are a joke. Spoke with Kyle he was supposed to tell me where I can get it and that was friday. Called , emailed, called again yesterday and nothing. I even had my local hydro store call on Saturday to ask if they can stock it and no response yet. Souns like a bunch of kids over at elevation. Sure sucks cause id rather support local business than 707.

I am gonna say fuck these guys! What if I had issues with the soil and needed help? Fuck they wont even help with me buying 20 bags. Also the store left a message and said they buy in 200 bag increments and they have not had a call back. Sounds like a business ran by jackoffs from my experience.

I have a few ?'s... What steps are taken to ensure pest free soil! Is amending with Dolemite and Epsom recommended? How long until the nutrient supply is depleted an in need of additional love? And is perlite, or other aeration amendments recommended? Thanks

Hey I did get an email back today. Im sure its a bad ass product. Unfortunately ill hold off I had another bump in the road with obtaining this soil so it has to be a sign to just stick with what I got for now.

Kyle, it is very disheartening to want to spend money on something and not be able to get it. Kyle please re read my emails as I was VERY clear I did not want jack shit for free. Lol I wanted to pay for the soil and offered to show it as i thought I could help someone here as well. I honestly dont understand why price was an issue when I said id pay? I do appreciate your response and hopefully will see you around some shows or something to chat.I am really sorry I couldnt get this run of soil from you guys. I own a business and really wanted to support local as well. Also pueblo hydro acted like they had no clue man I wonder about those guys sometimes they need to get there act together I guess.

I see you offer nutrients and teas as well! It looks great. I would do a side by side with this stuff for sure! Any enzymes?

It sounds like you are well on your way. I have heard people railing on Roots for using cheap bark, manure that is not composted (you can smell the difference)
and even filler that comes from old sewage dumps. You have to ask yourself where all these bags of Roots are coming from because how can you sell pallet after
pallet of quality products all over the country. You would need a lumber yard with many acres to mix all that product. Now, I do know that Aurora Innovations was founded in Eugene and I
have family there but I also know that $$$$ is King and that even though people start out with the best intentions, often they wind up exploiting whatever means necessary to maintain.
With that being said, I will be doing another run this winter and my questions are:


1) I live near Golden, is there anyone stocking Base Camp out here or should I contact you directly?
I typically buy 10-12 bags of 1.5 cu. feet at at time. $20 or less per bag is great, over that I start question the markup. We are after quality, am I right?
I read $18 per 1.5 on this thread. That is reasonable, especially for local quality.


2) Are you sourcing your ingredients from Colorado? That makes a difference to me.
Shipping bulk forest products from Oregon is not sustainable so I would hope that you are moving away from that if your are supplementing with those ingredients, however you can't get Crab meal from a Colorado source.


3) Gnats are annoying but not a real threat. The real killer is Thrips. Thrips will destroy everthing and there is no real way to combat a heavy infestation organically.
I have gotten thrips from plants bought at nurseries and from potting soil including Roots. It's hard to say if they get in at the source or at the grow store.
Spinosad may or may not help. Thrips are becoming immune to it. What is your experience with Thrips? These are the only pest problems I have had in Colorado.
Mixing on a concrete pad is one thing but finished potting soil can not be stored outside under any circumstances and when I go to Way to Grow I see pallets stacked up out back.
During the winter you may be able to get away with it but during the summer bugs will get into your palletized potting soil that is stored outside. Having a warehouse full of potting soil is also
not sustainable. Any thoughts on this?

KYLE?? i missed the whole dialouge with him . the owners seem legit the sources are solid as far as i know they are mostly from oregon and india . same as most but better than alot. not just the same old same old.
Results are king so i will get them up soon and hope to see a elevation member here someday

You should've talked to Steve, Steve is good people, although timing could've been better, I feel like he tried to do what he could to make it right. he hooked me up with hella samples. I can't ufcking believe I just said Hella Samples... Or hella... shit, I said it again. Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing how the amendments I got work, I literally got everything but the soils, which is fine since I have some coco left anyway. The one thing that makes me curious is their Fertile Valley Soil Builder and Tea Brew, the first two ingredients are Coconut coir and peat moss, maybe they help with the microbes during storage or something, IDFK
