hi i used to get on this site a long time ago but i forgot my password lol not because i was high i wish that was the reason......I am a really proud person but i have noone to turn to. I am in a situation where i am about to be homeless. I live with my girlfriend and her parents and lost my job a year ago. Her dad is the only one who works because her mom is disabled after 3 strokes(she justhad her 4th stroke). We are falling behind and now my girlfriends dad has to pay for in home nursing and for her medicine. I go to bed hungry and i have never had to go through this. I am hungry to the point i get sick and my mom can barely help herself let alone me and my dad really isnt there for me in any way but emotionly. I have nothing but pride left and im ready to drop my pride. I told my girlfriend im goin to beg for money on the streets and her and my mom got mad and said im better than that but, I have looked everyday for jobs online even had a couple interveiws but i dont have work expirence so noone wants to hire me. All i ask is there anyway someoone could send me a check for a dollar. I really hate to ask but if i dont ill be on the streets soon. sorry to be a bother if i am to anyone.thanks to anyone who helps a fellow stoner

go apply for food stamps. get some food in you. if your situation is as you say it is, go apply.

you might also get some help on other assistance programs that will help you get work. you can likely get a phone (important for getting a job), job search assistance through food stamps, heating assistance for the winter, and possibly more.

swallow your pride and take some assistance. we don't let ours go hungry in this nation. get back on your feet again and you can even pay it back if you want to.

but seriously, go take advantage of the help that this country provides.

don't thank me, thank the nation. this is not a nation where we let people go hungry. if you're able-bodied and looking for work, they'll help you find it and feed you along the way.

"The Nation" sounds better than my real family lol really they always trying to scheme the only one worth anything is my mom and she cant even afford to pay attention....the only thing that keeps me from suicide is God but thats somthing i wont get into.... just know you made me good for once in a long time just to know someone i dont even know actually cares ive never really felt like anyone ever gave a damn thanks Buck

Don't spend money on weed. Get a job at McDonald's if it keeps the lights on and food in your belly. There are still millions of jobs out there for people with no experience, like Starbucks or . Use craigslist. Get food stamps. Ask for housing support from your local welfare center. I've been desperate and laid off before but, despite what some people would have you think, being jobless isn't some kind of impossible pit you can't escape.

Don't beg for money online, put your time into finding a job. Ask someone to look at your resume. We have tons of free services in this country for people looking for work, and they're not hard to find. Go to your city hall and get some information. Bootstraps, man, bootstraps. You can get out of it if you work for it!

Thank you for your input. and for the record people I quit smoking a couple weeks ago cause I cant afford to buy any. And dont please dont think im a lazy bum i have really been busting my ass and will continue to do so and thanks for all the kindness here on RIT

Every store in the country is starting to hire seasonal workers for the holiday sales season. There are literally millions of unfilled part-time positions that are starting to be offered, they have to have people hired and trained well before the black Friday sale. There is no way you can't find a job at Walmart, or any mall store, or the post office, UPS, FedEx, all logistics companies hire like crazy right now. I would be beyond shocked that if you drop applications in 10 big stores, that you didn't get an interview at one of them. I would go for getting one at a shipping place like UPS or something like that, since if you bust your ass, you might get hired full time.

There's also always a demand for people to do construction. Sure, it's only $10 an hour, but it will pay the rent and keep the lights on, and you don't need experience. Plus, if you speak any Spanish or are decent at all in your job, you'll move up quick. You'll also get into damn good shape and it's a lot more interesting and tactile than just sitting in a cubicle all day.

Dont get a job get three, that is what I had for years back in the late 80s when I was in the same situation. Best of luck and Buck is right, lots of federal programs to tide you over and very easy to qualify.

i wish you luck friend, he has a good point about the seasonal jobs starting to hire.

Heres a great idea, grab a rake and some garbage bags and start knocking doors for fall clean up, come winter do it with a shovel. If you find a customer for the fall clean up make sure to do a great job because the best type of customer is a repeat customer for the winter snow. I did this for lawn cutting, fall clean up and snow removal. Got to the point where i was turning down people because of word of mouth and too many customers. Came time were my girl was cleaning houses and i continued but also did fertilizer and salt got 2 business phones and that was it. initial investment of 10$ and motivation turned into a business i couldnt keep up with.

You're a bum. You'll graciously accept proffered advice while waiting for some to actually send you money. Your PO can point you toward employers willing to hire you maybe?
