End of the Blackberry

Anyone else remember the days of the Blackberry. Memories are all that remains of the once dominant device.

This strikes me as a company who failed miserably in evolution.
They had a huge market share at one point but allowed Apple and Samsung to catch and surpass them.
At the point of discovering this, they had nothing new to offer consumers.

It happens to many companies are are slow to adapt and keep up with changing technology. Look at the department store Sears. At one time they had a huge catalog industry and were one of the biggest retailers in the world. But they seemed oblivious to the potential of the internet as it emerged and completely ignored online ordering. Now they're basically a dead company and Amazon that started out online selling books is the biggest retailer in the world.

Sony made a bad decision when they failed to license their Beta technology to other manufacturers so VHS won that battle as everyone was making VHS players and despite BETA being a higher quality it just faded away.

Sometimes companies just don't make the changes they need to and fall behind. I had a work issued Blackberry back in the day. I sure thought I was cool then.
