energy bill up 80 bucks for 400 watts?

so i jsut got my energy bill today, had my 400 watt hps light going for ONLY 2 weeks
and it went to 127 bucks....i live in an apartment and usually the bill is about 40 to 70 tops
how could it go up 50 bucks in 2 weeks???
there is no way.
we have been using everything the same

what else are you running fans,pumps,ac/heaters it may be something else fans are very inefficient and can eat up some juice

Look at your electricity bill, what is the rate you pay per KWH? Is your bill combined gas and electric? gas has tripled in price over last year, which may be the cause of the high bill. Expect all your heating bills to double or triple over last year due to this expense.

we have the ac goin and thats about it....i think its the ac, cause we have that shit on eveynight til we wake up basically
other than that....the washer and dryer i guess?
not really to much else we have except lights around the house...i really dunno wtf, but shits weak lol

you AC will definatly be the culprit because a 400 watt light running 24/7 at 11 cents per kilowatthour and adding 20 watts for the ballast would cost 1.11 a day and 33.30 a month and a whopping 404.00 a year

stat using CFL bulbs...secong each 93.5 watts of light you use is equal to 1 amp of energy...you are using about 4.30 amps @ a rate of lets say 13 hours a day..1 amp will gerealy cost you about 6 cents per hour.plus the fact that itis runing alot and what everelse you have on the same circut as the light!

I just got my bill last week for a full month running 1100W A/C unit, 440W Bloom 320W Grow and household misc stuff @ .08 rate bill less than $100 so something is seriously wrong with that bill.

Not including my AG and extra CFLs

running 2 400 watt hps electric jump under 40 bucks so far been on for months my hot tub cost more to run than the 2 lights

lol dam, ya i think my roommate just didnt pay last months and trying to fuk me and say its my lights, but they dont admit it...oh well just pay it and move on, see wat happens next month
