Enzymes and Hydrogen Peroxide

I'm going to start another grow soon and I was planning on using a product with beneficial enzymes this time because on my last grow I had some problems with pythium. The issue is that this product can't be used with hydrogen peroxide. At least that's what it says on the label.



Do you think it would be a problem is let's say I would use enzymes for a week and the next week I would use only hydrogen peroxide and keep alternating between the two (I change the water in the reservoir every 7 days)? For a double protection against root rot.

The peroxide works by killing living organisms, good and bad, in the water and root zone. this would include the enzymes. this is why people generally use one or the other.
That being said, some people do use peroxide to knock out infection, and after a day or two when the peroxide has all dissipated add beneficials.

Don't bother w the peroxide, use hydroguard from botanicare. Keeps my systems working well and have had no problems since I started using it. Doesn't make sense to switch back and forth, the goal is to have a healthy root system and the peroxide will just wipe out the beneficials. I use it the whole way through and it works great.

Use hydroguard with enzymes like dude said above , pondezyme is what I use, good luck

If the product you're using is Z7 by flying skull they suggest chlorine IF you need it.

high nutrient temperatures may require the use of Chlorine in small amounts as Z7 relies totally on Mother Nature for root and system protection. Follow the directions from manufactures prescribing dosage. Z7will work with chlorine products and in most case you can reduce the amount of chlorine and still get the benefits from Z7. Growers may see a benefit by combining Z7 with chlorine when temps exceed 75 degrees. More data is coming in every daily from greenhouses on tropical islands so keep watch.
