Estimate the value of what you have spent on your 2012 Grow..

Guess the goal of this thread is a few things..
1. see who can grow for little or no $$
2. See what the big kids pay for
3. helping others be more frugal with the expenses..
4. my attempt at trying to see tha value in what some of you are doing.

Ive seen a few posts where they are using 100 gal containers and buying 10$ fox farm soils etc.. ouch... pricey.



2012 Total Grow Costs $74.00

(to be fair about my grow.. I am able to spend all day everyday with my ladies... and time is more valuable then pesticides or chemicals)

Soil (reused and composted from the prior year ) added some additional stuff like amend and steer crap
5xbags each at 1.40 for steer +2 $ for the amend 2 bags each.

11$ total for soil
Containers (free) (never be afraid to use Kitty litter buckets right?? Fresno farmer! I used a mop bucket this year till she she got too big)
light (free thank ya Lord)
Nutes-Chems etc $13 for Super bloom
Grow Lic.. renewel 50

Total cost this year $74.00!!

I forgot the most important part of my grow the plants-seeds..
I am very very lucky to know a buddy who has given me seeds/clones for 2 years..
If I had to pay for them I can add about 60$ /yr (after he has cloned his I veg em till I can clone them or I plant seeds.. damn I cant believe I forgot the plant cost.. lol


(last year was a bit more had just started it and had nothing whatsoever for pot usage or growing)

air cooled hood upgrades 90$ 1k hps kit 300$ squirle cage fan 80$ 410cfm carbon filter 80$ 6 inch inline fan 29$ bulbs i got 8 hps bulb = 160$ cause i hate it when they blow and i cant get a bulb in time 50$ in 4 foot shop lights . 800$ all together not including all of my buckets ph meaters temp humid gauges fans so over 1000$. but i dont ever have to risk growing outdoors and i will never have to buy ne thing agin

I've probably spent about $300. Most of that was in soil and seeds.

I figure I made it back already with a couple ounces I've pulled so far off my autos.

o this year i havent had to buy anything this was most of my equipment i have gotten slowly over time.. wait 10 bag ffof another 95$ lol

i have well over $12000 in my grow rooms.

oops, didnt notice. consider balls busted.

I've spent about $200 on soil and ammendments
About $30 on insectiside soap and what nots
$1 at the dollar store for Epson salts
I made the clones myself so I didn't have to buy them this year

So I got about $231 bucks into this 2012 grow

Edit : but I'm sure ill be buying more stuff for flower

Pumps , Plastic Tubing , Airstones, more bontanicare bloom. etc.

I got about 2 grand in my 4x4x8 tent. I could probably easy sink another 2 grand in it but I'm a baller on a budget lol.

i dont think i should get into it lol... i upgraded everything. about 600 in soil and amendments, lights for outside,sprays, over 15 gallons of maxsea fertilizer,bug zapper,car port,pots/containers, 2 4x8 trays, 3 1000 watt lights and ballasts, 2 air cooled hoods, 2 new 6" inline vortex fans, a 4x8 tent, 2 ez cloners, an ez-up for another greenhouse, ducting, a/c unit, window fans. and i know there is still alot more. im in for like 3-5000 inside and out, not including my electricity and my rent

not to mention still buying more coco and soil all the time, and i still need some pvc pipe and greenhouse sheeting to finish my carport greenhouse

oh yeah and picking up a 300 dollar atomizer fogger today lol

That's the great thing about outdoors - you don't really have to spend too much. I used about $30 or less in soil ammendments (my soil is good so I don't need a lot). I mulch everything with alfalfa hay bales, which are just around but the value is about $3 per bale and I use between 10 and 15 square bales per season, so about $40. I bought fertilizers/insecticides and had some. Spent a bunch foar all my gardening but used less than $30 worth and have a lot left over. I had all the tools and fencing. So, I guess about $100.
Oh, gas in my ATV hauling the water was a lot this year, but visiting the ladies is so much fun, I hate to consider it a cost

i just moved to this place in april as renter and using the landlords soil just seemed like a great excuse for him to try and swindle me out of some pounds come harvest so i said fuck it and bought like 35-40 bags of ffof, happy frog, and roots at like 10 bucks a piece

I am either to high and forgot the seed-clone costs or too old to remember 100% of crap I do.

About $210. So all I need to do is produce an ounce and a half to come up even.

Next year I might spend about $60 on a few larger pots and another $60 on soil while also reusing this year's soil. I wont have to buy any amendments for at least 2 or 3 more grows. And if all goes well, I'll have all my own clones too. (Or acquire others through barter and love only.)

barter and love can get you a long way

I spent $10 bucks this year. I just had to buy soil.
