Excuse the noob question on t5

Mars300, especially the NEW ones, are not that bad for their price point. They make excellent veg lights and work fairly well in small spaces. Paired with some supplemental CFLs and they'll compete with any other low budget grow.

When you see many people on RIU complain of mars, they're mostly referring to the old models, and they attempt to use them in much larger grow rooms and wonder why their yields suck.

Week 6 of flower under a mars300 w/ CFL supplemental.

She's over 4 feet tall and already know she's over 4 ounces in weight.

Top Cola, about the size of 12oz soda can, very dense

Mars work just fine when you're not trying to flower huge areas or multiple plants.
Very nice looking plant.

That trich shot is about EQUAL to the results I got from bagseed
with 100w t5. T5 may have even had a little more. I definitely prefer the t5's over similarly priced leds.

Additionally, the cfl supplemental lighting is likely what's giving you the trich density.

That's very nice. Thanks for posting. I just started a grow with t5 over the top and two Mars 300, plus a 90 UFO for side lighting. 1 led for each plant and I'll turn the pots every day. I'm betting it works great based on your picks.

What was the total wattage of the supplemental CFL may I ask?

I've got a 8 bulb t5 - 4 footer..great for young plants, you don't want to flower with them, get led light.
I disagree with this statement, I have grown PoP can size buds with my t5 4' 8 bulb. I have been doing this for 3 years and grow very nice smoke, Im sure there are better lamp HPS , but for 30 dollars a month electricity QP plants of very nice smoke.. Ill stay with T5's

Floro don't penetrate the canopy, they will be obsolete in a few years..LEDs will see to that.

Sure you can flower with them but its not ideal, I could cut my lawn with scissors too..I just prefer a lawn mower.

To each their own, I run 4 plants for me. In a 4x8 tent, However I only use 4x4. And I get very nice yields. Any way I may go led some day, running pure par bulbs 8 with 4 6500k, when l.e.d's come reasonable for a hobbyist. I might buy some
