Expected max. yield of 30-plant indoor setup?

Hi all, I have lurked on these boards for several days now so I'm not a complete newb but I have very little personal growing experience.

I'm wondering if a grow setup like the one I have in mind would be a worthwhile investment. Please let me know what you think.

Startup cost is not really an issue, but I don't want to go down this road unless I can expect some nice weight. I want to try to stay within regulations, and I think I could realistically get about 5 people to name me their caregiver if I decide to grow, so I want to try to limit the grow to 30 mature plants or so at a time.

The other aspect is that I don't want to sacrifice too much quality for quantity. I want to grow stuff that I wouldn't mind paying for.

So with these parameters in mind:

- indoor
- plentiful startup cash
- Max. 30-35 mature plants
- at least decent quality

Were I design a setup to maximize harvest weight, what could I expect? I don't really care whether I get harvests that often, just total average weight per month per plant? Since I want to limit the number of plants I figure I should go for more weight per plant instead of a faster harvest time, but I really don't know. Cheers for any feedback.

Well, thats like pulling the winning lottery numbers out of a hat. Factors such as experience, growroom temp, lights, hydro or soil yada yada will be all factors toward the final yield.

30 plants could mean anything from a sog with small plants yielding maybe a half ounce each to a commercial grow with 30 trees yielding a pound each. I think you are putting the cart before the horse. As I often say, the target yield in a first grow is your own learning, not the bud. I strongly advise you to start small, maybe 3 or 4 plants in a simple dwc. What you learn from that will pay you dividends for years and you will still get maybe 4-6 good ounces. And after that experience, you will be better able to decide what kind of system is best for you, and to formulate more targeted questions.

comming here with yield questions is the wrong approach, no one can answer that question, the rule of thumb is 1 gram per watt of light but it depends on so many factors that it is not completely reliable.

this being your first post and you asking about yields is a big Noob indicator that can cause some experienced growers to ignore you

it's kinda like oh look another noob with $$ signs in his eyes LOL

the purpose of the sight is to learn to grow and in the process learning how to tweak it for yield, it is not easy and takes a lot of dedication and work

My advice is to ask questions that will get your grow on and go from there :bigjoint:

Right, I'm just looking for a ballpark *good* yield of a setup like this. Basically if you had a 30-plant indoor setup that you could design any way you wanted, what type of harvests would you be pleased with?

I recommend a perpetual harvest......find you a good clone....veg it 'til you can pull enough clones...have a veg/clone room......and have a flowering room with 2 set ups ......this way you can have a harvest every 4-6 weeks depending what strain you go with.......now weight wise is dependent on strain and growing experience.......so.

Soil Soil-Less???

i would say 1-2lbs. fast and quick. between 1/2 oz and oz on each. short veg and flower quick. that way u get an extra cycle in every year.

Sorry for double post, a few of you beat me to the punch.

Yeah I could grow a few plants - I've done that. I am doing that right now.

But if I want to expand and really get into this then I would need not only to invest in a space but more importantly the time and energy to learn to grow well. I'm just wondering if it's worth it.

And yes, I do have dollar signs in my eyes. It is about the money. I have smoke already.

very goor advise you have been given. no dought start small and learn then work on yeild later. alot of thing to bud. not to mention what kind of strain your growing or how many your growing at one time. but grow on man it only gets better. and yes its werth it by far. ill never buy again lol

Jesus people reply fast in this forum I can't keep up.

I have not decided on what type of system I want to use as far as soil/soil-less.

Also I am aware that yield depends on many factors, including skill which I currently lack. If I took the time to gain it and had average conditions, what type of yield then?

There will probably already 5 new responses by the time I post this.

Lol whoever wrote the post in the link you sent is either flooding the market or has no connections long-distance connections. There is always a market somewhere.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass here I'm in Colorado and there is a serious green rush going on here people moving here to grow, over 400 dispenseries opened in the last several months 3 within 4 blocks on broadway 2 on federal just 3 blocks apart, it's crazy and they are given out 400 to 600 cards a day with over 30,000 patients so far

the best part is the weed is crap (with a few exceptions) one disp is selling mex swag one sells clones that are not rooted, LOL there are a lot of disp's being opened by NooB's that have the fever and don't know shit

Right now demand is higher than supply but within months it will turn the other way

And if it shouldn't be about the money then why would anyone ever grow more than a couple plants? This forum would be MUCH smaller if it weren't about the money. MJ is a cash crop, and we are farmers.
