experience with Volcano Vaporizer?

I've been looking at vaporizers, and it seems the volcano vaporizer keeps coming up. I'm not big on hype and it is really expensive. So I'm looking for info from people who have had one for more than a few months I'd prefer info from people who have had one a couple years. I'd like to know how well they work, how durable they are, whether or not there easy to use and how harsh/unharsh it is (I know this largely depends on the quality of the bud, but if you were to take the same herb and smoke it or vapo it how does it compare.) Thanks all!!!

I just got an Herbalaire. There normally $259 I got mine off ebay for $97. At that price I though it was worth the risk I would only be out $100 not $650. I love it. Vaporizes well with consistent temps. You can us bag or whip. I will say the it has a few quirks. Order an extra crucible with it they get really hot and are hard to refill. The only way to remove the crucible is to dump it out. I'm really enjoying it.

ive used the volcano and a generic for 150 and the generic does the same thing. the volcano was bought about 4 maybe 5 years ago and the generic was purchased about 1. they both do the same thing and get me equally medicated but u get what u pay for so i can guess which one will last longer

I own the Extreme Q, box whip, vapir, and volcano, for best quality, consistant heating, flavor, durability and everything else the volcano is the best by a huge margin, cheaper ones have bad plastic mouthpieces that ruin the flavor and the quality of there heating elements are different which changes the quality of your vapor, and also effects flavor and potency without burning your meds, plus volcanos come with awesome warranties, just my opinion but i think volcanoes outclass any vaporizer and thats why they can mark it for 550 dollars and people still buy them like crazy.
but, if you are looking for something that vaporizes, works and gets you stoned then cheaper ones are the way to go.

Ive had my volcano for 4 years now... never a single issue...

all you have to do is buy bags, occasional O rings, and screens to replace worn out ones after lots and lots of use..

I get the best flavor out of the volcano HANDS down... I marvel at how simple and perfect the engineering is, all the time...

IMO if you have the coin and are serious about medicating the volcano is worth it... I mean I spent 600 on it, and still have it and use it all the time..like every day multiple times per day.. $600 for 4 years of flawless, perfect tasty, healthy medicine is nothing really.. I mean I spent 350 on a TORO I only used for a week, until I dropped it on the kitchen floor and shattered it... You get the point.. You can buy nice glass, instead of an amazing vape... but theres ALWAYS the chance that you *might* break your glass.. The volcano is one of the hardiest product I've seen, longevity like a RIFLE or a well maintained CAR . I've been to multiple states with my volcano, and dropped my unit from more than a few foot drop - multiple times.... Never even hiccuped. Always works, ALWAYS gets me MEDICATED... Always satisfies :)

PM me if you need more info I've ranted about how much I like my volcano more than once here don't feel like re-spewing it all :).

I own the Extreme Q by Arizer. Well worth the money. You can get it a lot cheaper online from Amazon. Does both Whip, and Bag, and comes with plenty of extra parts, and a remote control. Also comes with lifetime warranty. One thing I would really think about if you go with a cheap Vape is making sure that there is no lead being used like those cheap China Vapes. Next to the Volcano I would put the Extreme Q as being 2nd best.

Go for the volcano.. i've had mine for a few years and never had a problem... replaced my air filter once but the other one didnt seem dirty and also changed the screen...still using the replacement kit that came with it... by far the easiest to use but the thing that keeps everone coming back is the Valve set.. most vapes u have to plug something... best vape hands down.

doesnt tear up ur throat like if u took too big of a hit from a bong, blunt, bowl...
the high is different.. more euphoric in my opinion
smoke less bud
less bud gets u medicated
seem to stay medicated longer
u can change the temp to effect the high
less odor

Any vaporizer that requires you to use breath control to pull the heat through the material will frustrate you eventually. Sure, they're easy enough to use... but the more you use it and the higher you get, the more sloppy your breath technique is going to get, and you're going to wish for a fan-operated model eventually. Not to mention all the extra time you have to spend just sitting there drawing on the straw.

This has been my experience with every vaporizer I've tried. The only ones that are worthwhile are fan powered.

That being said... I'm not too sure the fan ones are all created equal either. Volcanos consistently give these thick ass clouds... every time I see an Airizer or similar used the cloud looks really weak by comparison. I'm not convinced this is a temperature variation, as I would think they would want to show off the capabilities... it seems to me it's a matter of mechanics, or perhaps the larger suface area of the volcano's "bowl"...

would love to hear from any 'experts' who have a lot of experience with all the fan-powered ones...

I've had my Herbalaire for about 3 weeks now. So I can't answer as to longevity. I've never used a Volcano so I can't compare the 2. I can use the whip, which works well but most of the time I use my bag. I've learned about 370° is the max I like to vap. Given about 5min warm up the Herbalaire will fill a bag with a nice thick vap, that is very tasty.
Maybe the Volcano is better but I got mine Herbalaire for $97, new on ebay. I never found a used Volcano under $450.

Just go to the biggest head shop in the biggest city around you. Bought my volcano for $550 - $100 store credit.

Considering I just kicked over and broke my $350 Illadelph the other night, I'd say it's worth it just for the longevity.

* Just one of many glass pipes I've broken...

Volcanos are practically bulletproof. Mine has fallen from several feet onto hardwood floors a couple of times, it's also had the shit kicked out of it more than once. Several large dents in that silver cover but after 5 years the only issue I've ever had was a broken fan switch, which I would consider to be minor after filling up a couple million bags of vapor. Its certainly paid for itself a couple times over, if anything I've probably had over 1000 dollars worth of pot smoked with me over the years just because I won that thing.
I would've broke probably 10 bongs over the years. Or easily bought well over 500 $1 blunt wraps.

Also if you have stainless steel appliances in your kitchen it blends in very nice :hump:

I have had the idea of putting the volcano on a timer with my coffee machine and then have it warm up as my coffee is being brewed... Would be pretty cool... Maybe a espresso machine with a built in vaporizer? vise versa?
