Eye Hortilux Powerveg

What's up everyone? I've been looking around and I see that a lot of people use Powerveg t5 bulbs for extra light on top of there main flower lights. I wanted to try and run a cycle with the Powerveg flowering bulbs and see just what kind of end product I can get. Here is what I got going on so far. The seeds came from Thailand, my friend and his wife were there on vacation and got 4 seeds out of some street weed they bought. They turned out 2 males and 2 females. Germinated them with the paper towel method and moved seeds into solo cups using 75% Fox Farms happy frog with 25% perlite. Those two girls where veggies under Hortilux Powerveg bulbs with the veg cycle bulbs. Nutes used so far are veg+Bloom Dirty at half strength for all of veg. Every other watering with water I added half strength cal/mag. Always had every feeding and watering at ph of 6.5. Treated once with gnatrol for preventative measures and have one yellow sticky for each plant plus two more at top of tent to catch the flyers. Also using the 6 inch Max-Fan with the 6x16 Max-Fan activated carbon filter. I'll post pics of plants at end of veg and the begining of 12/12 as well as the exhaust set-up and stuff. Please feel free to comment on my experiment and please remember that I'm not looking for huge tight colas, just want to see what happens. Puff puff pass pass!

Every week I'll update the thread with a few pics to show how the girls are progressing and to let everyone know if any changes where made.

A little more info on the grow. It's all going on in a 2'x4'x4' tent. The bulbs are 24" t5 flouresent, in two fixtures for 4 tubes each. Each fixture has two, full spectrum with UV tubes. Third tube is at 633nm and the fourth tube is at 660nm. Each tube is rated for 25 watts giving me a total of 200 watts.

Hello RIU! Here are some weekly pics of the t5 experiment. Not much change going on since I flipped to 12/12 last week. A little more growth that was expected but no signs of flowering yet. So at this point we have one week 12/12 but I'm not into flower yet.

Good week to everyone, posting my weekly update one day early this week because after 13 days since 12/12 light switch I'm calling it day one of flower. No change in anything this past week. Same watering and feed schedule.

What's going on everyone, got a weekly update for the t5 experiment. Had an issue with my ph pen going wonky on me so I had a slight ph issue but I think it's all set now. Everything looks good to me so far. Check out some pics. Looks like it might turn out to be decent smoke.

Hello RIU! Into my second week of flower and all is well. Bud growth is about what I expected but I do enjoy the hard skunk smell that is developing. Added my flower nute to start today, veg+bloom dirty for my base nute and I'm using shine as my part b nute. I took some clones a little while back and I do like the fact that she gives good babies. Got lots of branches right from the start. Check out some pics and let me know what you think.

Hello RIU! Got some weekly journal update pics. Not much of a change in anything, I did start using Shine as my Bloom nute, so for the next few weeks it should be Veg+Bloom Dirty with the Shine, both at half strength. Keeping the ph at 6.3-6.7, Temps ate stable at 78 degrees F, and RH is fluctuating a bit around 65%. Seems healthy so far so ill keep everything like it is.

What's up everyone?! Into week 4 of flower, a little more bud growth but I can see this is gonna be a 10-12 week flowering strain. I've noticed pistils starting to brown but new white ones come in to replace. Very aromatic, very sticky. I love seeing big trichs popping off the stems. Hey everyone, been an interesting week. Got the thrips, caught it in the very early stages and treated with Flying Skull Nukem. It's citric based so I don't mind using at what is the start of week five yesterday. I did notice all the pistils turned brown but I know they will grow back. Sprayed top and bottom of leaves, stems and top of soil. I also bleached the entire inside of the tent. Everything! Lights, power cords, fan, water pump lines. Anything I could touch, I cleaned. I took a few pics of the her while she was under regular light. I love that dark green.

Hello RIU! I took a little break from the weekly updates. It seemed kinda pointless to post pics weekly so I let it go for a few weeks. Now into week 9, I noticed the RH was creeping up so i started to use the inline fan. RH went from around 74% down to 52% with a bottom tent temp at 72F and the top of the tent above the lights are at 75F. I'm really digging the crazy sweet smells the girl is giving off and she is a sticky bitch as well. I'm thinking two more weeks and she should be ready to chop down. I also got two solo cups going, all the clones from the last round rooted well so I decided to flower the extra clones rather than toss them out. Here are a few pics of the progress up to yesterday.
