Ok i just got my cloner machine same style as ez cloner. I was wanting to know about how to do the cuttings.
What i have did was cut my clone and scrapped (took outside layer of skin off stem) about 1/2 inch up stem like i do with the root riot cubes and then i put a split down the center of the stem and dipped it in rooting gel then into the neoprene pads in the cloner....Is this correct or whats the best way to do cuttings in these machines i also added some thrive alive to my water. Please let me know what your sucess is and procedure for doing your clones. Thanks

Don't split them, just the 45 angle cut. You can use scarification if you want though. In an aerocloner you don't need any rooting gel but you can use it to put your mind at ease.

Ok so do not split them will the ones i have already did with the split be ok do you think? And should i still scrap the stems peel them? Thanks for the quick reply.

I was just asking because the ones i did about 2hrs are kinda laying over i didn't know if this was normal and maybe they stand back up??

It's normal for cuts to go limp the first hour but they will perk up. I like to leave my pump on for the first hour or 2 then I put in on a timer 15/15 but anything should work.

I also had another question about the water how often do you clean and put new water in? I am using thrive alive in my tank if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance
