F1s or IBL/F4+

Hey so wanted to get your opinions.

F1s have hybrid vigor so should yield more correct?

However they dont have stable phenotypes. Whereas IBL dont have hybrid vigor yet have more stable phenotypes.

Do you guys usually go for the IBL or do you find F1s worthwhile to grow?

This grow i have bred genetics F3+ or IBL. But i was thinking about trying out an F1 cross. Any suggested breeders whose F1s generally are full of great phenos? I dont mind suprise phenos as long as they are dank/decent yield.

I will choose an IBL for stability when it comes to breeding, but hybrids are often my favorite to grow for personal use because of the slight variance, but sometimes its alot of variance. I made a Blueberry X big bud a while back that gave me around 10-11 different phenos, while some other crosses can have 2-4.

All depends on personal preferrance and what you are growing for. But the hybrid vigour from a good F1 can be very nice lol

depends on the genetic make up and selection...sometimes youl find super gems in F-1s , i like both IBL and hybrids for diff reasons, but i could never pick one to have forever

This is all going to be a matter of choice and what you are either growing or breeding for. f1s are nice for smoking, growing out and looking for that special pheno. As for general breeding I don't use f1 males for anything but backcrossing to the mother, but this is just me and how I approach producing a strain or more correctly for me breeding for a trait. I could be totally wrong but over the years it seems to me more about how an IBL is reached as to how much vigor it losses and how quickly. If you approach IBL simply by cubing you are greatly reducing the genepool making in easier to lose vigor. When breeding for a trait within a strain and approaching IBL in this manner you have a many more steps to achieve the goal but tend to keep vigor by having a larger genepool for plant structure and a small genepool flower.
So in short each has their good points/bad points and advantages/disadvantages of using, it will come to time willing to spend in breeding over the variety in f1 and f2 hybrids and lastly what makes you happiest to grow. Personally love to work on my strains while having some new f2s for the widest selection of phenos looking for that perfect plant 44 years growing now and still looking each grow cycle...lol.
Good Luck
