Facebook bans "Napalm girl"

Personally, FB is the devil.

Why should I expose myself for all to see?

It's just one step closer to being Soylent green or having a UPC tattooed on me.

Suckerburg needs to bring it back to what it was..to see who's dating who on college campuses, NOT a systemic collection of personal information to be sold to the highest bidder!

Yeah, and they are just now coming into their own. The whole thing is quite voluntary on our part, except the spying on and surreptitious gathering of information.

That's the crazy part..how many are willing to be sheeple.

It actually frightens me that people are so loose with info on that thing.

Do they not understand what the potential for it is?

I don't even own a iPhone.....cheep burners only for me
I played that piano game on an employees phone a while back. Almost made me want a new phone, almost. My flip phone is pushing 10 years old and still makes phone calls all the same.

How can facebook ban a picture? Cant you guys just load one up and post it like you can in a forum? How the fuck can that many accounts be watched for one single photo? Dont facebook either.

In an about face, Facebook said that it would allow users to post a Pulitzer-winning 1972 photograph of a girl running naked from a Napalm attack during the Vietnam War after it was deleted by the social network's algorithms.

The iconic photo -- which was taken by Associated Press photographer Nick Ut -- was removed from Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg's Facebook account earlier today.

The prime minister had posted the photo in solidarity with protests that began last month after Facebook censured the photo from a Norwegian author's page. The photo -- which shows the child, Kim Phuc, naked -- violated Facebook's policies on nudity.

In announcing the reversal, Facebook said in a statement that "because of its status as an iconic image of historical importance, the value of permitting sharing outweighs the value of protecting the community by removal."

The social network said that a photo of "a naked child would normally be presumed to violate our Community Standards, and in some countries might even qualify as child pornography," but in this case company officials recognize "the history and global importance of this image."

Fuck facebook.
Fuck them. Fuck them indeed. At least we know that RIU is much better as far as censorship goes. And RIU is not a public utility like The Facebook have basically become.

That is one of the mosy powerful pictures of the last 100 years. What assholes. They will control the future and the past if this shit keeps up. Nationalize the bitches!

I don't dox people, I just call them on their bullshit.
Threatening dox is just as bad as the act itself.

I find it interesting that the mods allow you to continually threaten me.

  1. Name Calling or general rude behavior is no longer acceptable in the Cafe, We are adults which means that we should be able to debate without resorting to name calling. Warnings will be given out if users fail to act appropriately.
    Dismiss Notice
Doxing is general rude behavior and according to the above, it's not acceptable.

But then again, they must wait for you to dox me to kick your ass out of here forever, Cheesy..because if you weren't in trouble, why the sock?

You are SO fucking predictable..better watch it..remember those guys that showed at your door after posting for the cops at RIU to 'come and get you'?..they sure as hell took you up on the offer didn't they, Cheesy?

Again I don't know who Cheesy is or wtf you're talking about half the time.

If you want people to stop calling you out for shit, stop posting bullshit.

I got a timeout for trolling you about your love for Bernie, never called you a name, was just being an asshole for grins. Yet other members who suck huge liberal cocks get away with whatever the fuck they want.

Let it go, it really doesn't matter. If it was so terrible, we wouldn't keep coming back. Besides, some members have made this place a huge part of their sad little lives. Keep it to your morning coffee before putting your big girl pants on, and then its just fun regardless of the outcome.
