Dude Im a anti fan leaf kinda guy. If they are yellow during veg pull em. During flowering you can remove down to 60% of all fans leaves and not have a problem some people will argue agianst that but when they start being ridicoloius huge blocking a ton of light from other i pull them too. But I dont "rip" till week 7 of a 10 week strain.

cutting the bigger fan leaves that grow off the stem towards the bottom wont harm it, it might even help it by letting more light through

i used to be one of those " dont touch any leaf during veg or flower" kinda guys, but after reading countless articles and post on the subject, and from my own personal experiments, i now agree with both of the above posters...if its in the way of buds, or yellowing and looks like shit, i take them off...ive never removed more than 30% of leaves in flowering, so i cant comment on anymore than that....but at 30% removal, the plant showed no ill effects, compared to the other untouched plants....

Yeah seventy percentage left on is perfect. Dude ive seen plants with tons of them on to the point all of them were yellowing and dead hanging and they still were lol f that. But at the end of their life they turn yellow during flush and with that being said I just finished a strin that at the last 2 days the yellows all of a sudden turned purple lol.

I do the same as the above. I will typically only remove the dead leaves or the ones dying or blocking light. I love being able to get light penetration to all parts of the plant and sometimes removing fan leaves is the only way to achieve this.
