fan size/cfm to cool 600w hps?

hello what is the proper cfm needed to cool a 600w hps. i am thinking about getting a hor/vert. cool tube or a regular hood. the duct will be six feet long with one 90 degree bend on each side of hood straight up through ceiling. any help is appreciated.

if you choose aircooled then you will need a fan around 280CFM to successfully aircool a 600w.

also every 90degree bend will reduce efficiency of your fan by about 20%.

you would be better trying to make them no less than 120degrees.

thanks i am running a 600 hortilux hps with lumitek ballast switched to super lumens, a 6" can fan with 8" insulated ac ducting with 2 90s and staying nice and cool. but it is drawing 45-60 degree air from attic.

No less than 400cfm, IMO. I live in SoCal and run a 600w hps, my temps run as high as 86 and as low as 77 with a 6" 435cfm inline fan.

Good luck

I just a fuckin dick so i gonna say both his post are wrong it take 250 cfm to cool a 1000w and evey 90* turn kills 60%of your flow and that what i know so youll need less than 250cfm and no 90* turn you can google the flow loss in ducting on google prally and get a bigger fan and duct to plan for your turns it a bitch to do right.
