Fan Speed Controller Not Working

Hi,

I have an IdealAir Fan Speed Controller. It used to work fine, but now the Variable setting doesn't work. The fan just runs at full speed. Any thoughts? I checked the fuse and it looks ok..

sounds like it took a shit . some of these products are garbage . suggest warranty it.

The cheap-O speed controllers work as an interrupt device, switching on and off via electronic control. They will decrease the life of your fan not to mention much louder operation. If you get a voltage regulating device such as this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006NGI8VS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 not only will you have far better control at a much lower decibel, your fans will last much longer. I have never found cheap fans or controllers to be a wise investment.

If it was mine i would pop it open and see if it uses a fuse as many cheaply made items still use fuses not auto resetting circuits.

Still others will be reading it when problems arise and there was no tips
