Creating this thread so i can hopefully get some solid advice from those of you that have experiance in both growing autoflower seeds, as well as going in general. This will be my first actual grow; not counting the first because im really only doing one plant...fast and vast as well.

For starters
Ive got 3 more seeds germinating from today 8/2

From their germination i will be putting them in 4 inch Jiffy Pots to grow through their seedling stage.
1 to 1.5 week

Next ill place them in 3 gallon "smart pots"
(backstory: I believe the if you are going to do a soil grow, from the research that ive done both online and reading is that these pots preform better because they are able to promote more aeration to the soil; this aids in drying the soil and to prevent over saturation)

The lighting that im going to use will be a ViparSpectra Reflector series 450w LED light (FULL SPECTRUM)
ive also got a normal multi bulb lamp that has 3 cfl bulbs @ 40w producing 550 lumens each.
So in total im pushing more than 4500 lumens in the grow closet that ive got.

Additionally i have two fans proving a gentle cross breeze, with one of the fans blowing across the soil level to prevent mold formation during watering.

So far im going to keep these seedlings and plants on this grow a 24/0 light cycle.

This is only my first entry and through this grow ill supply multiple photos as well as keep a detailed record on what goes in and comes out of this grow. Along the way im hoping that those of you that have more experience will chime in with some helpful information. Im also open to constructive criticism.

Alright another update and like i said ill give some pictures later on but there isnt to much to see right at this moment.
Now it is day 2 and almost exactly 48hrs since ive dropped the Fast & Vast into water ph to

Now they have cracked and both have awesome looking tap roots coming out...
From here im going to take some advice that ive researched earlier, and has also proven true with the plant I currently have in week 2 (Also Fast & Vast). That is to leave them in the water a bit longer so they can grow out the tap root a few more millimeters, then by the time place them within a jiffy cub, in fox farm soil contained in a 3 gallon Smart Pot... Sorry for the paragraph but for those of you that are looking to maximize the strains capabilities like I am then im hoping you appreciate it.

Nothing really more to add than that....
Ill place those two new seedlings next to the plant that will cover my closet just nicely... and will hopefully provide me with a Sea of Green when it comes time to flower. Those seedlings will be getting the light from the LED and also will have an 40w CFL soft white per plant to promote growth.

At the time im going to switch the seeds into the jiffy cube them place it in the soil I will spray to soil with a dosage of SUPERTHRIVE,
this like other products is a root stimulant that will reduce the stress/shock brought on by transplants or moving your plants around. This is a product that comes highly recommended from alot of people who know alot more than I do. You can pick it up from walmart and for 10 dollars i think its a great addition to your gardens arsenal

With the 2 seedlings growing in their jiffy pots w/ fox farm ocean blend it took a total of 5 days from germination to them shooting out of the soil, and they look like they are going to be some strong performers.

The main plant that I have left over from the 3 that i used as a test period is doing well, beleive it is going through its rapid growth period because the shoots are starting to come out and it has begun to grow more and more leaves each day.. so thats exciting.
Right now it is still getting 2 tsp of FF Grow Big in a gallon of water ph level from 6.5 - 6.8
Im only giving it a nutrient feedling once a week because this strain seems to be a little edgy on how they like to take nutrients in, and im not trying to burn this one up. So my advice to you would be to take it slow and just enjoy the plant growth in time.... its even begun to smell like some sweet ganja. Looking forward to putting the information that ive built up so far and carry it forward with me through other cycles.

You do not need to add anything to Fox Farms Ocean Forest. I ran it last grow and tried adding additional nutrients and really burnt my plants. It can full feed a grown plant for about five weeks before it needs any additional nutrients. Most I've seen add nutes to ocean forest do it about a month into flowering.

If you are going to be adding additional nutrients then start at 1/8 strength and wait a four days or so between feeding with nutrient water. Remember less is more when it comes to these plants. If you let them take their baby steps nice and slow they turn into big healthy bud ladden ladies.

Try all this for yourself, try growing with just the organic soil and then also organic soil + nutes. You'll find a method soon enough that suites you well.

Might want to look into changing your light cycle too plants can only use so much at a time so more light isn't necessarily better.

OK thanks me and a friend have gone about that back and forth. I've seen that autoflowers can do a 24 or 18 hour light cycle but I can see the reason for the reducting in time would help. Thanks for the nutrient add on, I'll just give them 18/6 light and then ween the nutrients to 1/8 tap for nutritions ever week
