favorite bagged compost or compst tea products

hey folks i know that we all prolly know the benifits of having your own compost pile in your backyard and raising your own worms for fresh worm castings, but what about when u dont have enough compost or worm castings for your gardening needs? what about the bagged products? i have been doing alittle research (i guess u could call it research) on diffrent bagged compost, soilyard's compost blends, bagged worm castings, and pre made compost tea bags, i have tried out quite a few different products and il let u guys know what ones i found worked best for me

bagged compost products:
garden & bloome soil-amending compost
happy frog soil conditioner
bountea organics humisoil
garden & bloome farmyard blend (not really bagged compost but works wonders when mixed with the garden & bloome soil amending compost)
earthworm soil factory vermicompost

bagged worm castings:
earthworm soil factory fresh worm castings
e.b. stone super worm castings
wiggler worm soil builder earthworm castings
roots organics big worm
black gold earthworm castings

pre made compost tea producst:
malibu's compost bu's brew compost tea bags
xtreme gardening compost tea bags
bountea organics fungal activator (i like adding the humisoil in with the fungal activator)


as far as soilyard's compost heavy soil mixes go i didnt find to many that i like most were horse shit heavy and hadnt been allowed to cook and break down, seemed liked they would sell u sum fresh horse shit with sum fresh sea kelp and peat moss and call it good lol i dont really trust to many soil yards anymore if im gonna spend the money on compost i dont wanna have to let it cook and break down before i can use it, the only soil yard i will go to now is the earthworm soil factory, they have a few bulk blends most are earthworm castings heavy and to be honest i like to add sum compost to their bulk blends but they are the only soilyard i know of that will sell u fresh castings too cause they run a huge worm farm there (hence the name lol)

anyway anybody got sum favorite bagged or pre made products they'd like to share:confused:

General Organics Ancient Forest Humus... it is natural forest litter that has been decomposing for thousands of years. This stuff has an extreme level of bio-diversity and is especially great for AACT. There are thousands of species of fungi, and tens of thousands of species of bacteria in this pure humus.

I've been using this in my teas for awhile as well and someone brought up a point to me that I hadn't thought of before, wouldn't using humus from a local forest be about as beneficial, yet free and less wasteful?

If you can find pure humus from an old-growth forest near you, maybe. The stuff comes from Alaska, though, and is the result of forest litter decomposing over thousands of years. Apparently there has been a lot of volcanic activity in the regions where it is harvested, and so it also contains volcanic ash that is super rich in minerals. It has also been tested for biological activity and is supposed to be pathogen free.

That's what's up. I think I'll see what forests I have around here. I've still got half a bag of the GO though. Maybe I'll keep buying it and use both :bigjoint:

i need to try out that ancient forest humus, see it referenced in a lot of threads.

One product i'm surprised i never see anyone mentioning and is an amazing product - VERMIBLEND by vermicrop organics

It's the best bagged compost i've ever used and usually is sprouting mushrooms and fungal hypha when i crack the bag open, it's a blend of green compost, EWC, kelp meal and a couple other things, love it love it love it! Mix it in with my used soil and make teas with it.

I like to use liquid kelp and fish fertilizer along with various bat guano for tea. Then for soil home depot sells these super cheap bags of chicken manure compost that's great soil amendment and I use a ton of that it's only like 3 dollars a bag. And e.b. stones super eath worm castings, and this really good mix of stuff called black forest

the only forest i know of around me that would have great natural forest humus is the redwoods of norcal! havent tried the ancient forest in my teas yet il have to give it a shot, i have tried the vermiblend once and liked it i was gonna continue using it but got caught up researching other bagged products lol

for me, and my plants, variety is everything. i'm more than satisfied with vermiblend, but arbico organics has a compost that looks good and i will try. I really like to find two or three "different" products of the "same" thing and switch it up each time i need that product. With reusing my soil it is beginning to have a plethora of ingredients and each transplant/clone/seed i swear is better and better

I have sold my castings to several of the people on your list, they tak and reproces them, and bag them, then sell them. I sell 100 percent pure earthworm castings, no to be confused with earthworm castings.......most of the time you are buying peat,kelp,lime and a cup or two of castings in a 20 pound bag.
