Fear of smell

So basically I plan to grow four plants in a grow tent in my basement. I will do proper venting along with a carbon filter. It will be in it's own room. Do you guys think the house will smell? Or just the basement or not at all?

if you are using a carbon filter it will be minimal , virtually no smell....

Just make sure you get a quality carbon filter and there wont be much smell if there is it will will be extremely faint and only in the basement

If it did not have it's own room(just in a open basement) do u think you could smell it if you were down there?

What is a quality brand? I was looking at one on htg

Whether its in its own room or just in the basement shouldnt really matter if the room is in the basement anyways and you're not filtering it outside. If you have a basement with windows and you're still worried get a carbon filter and then duct it out a window. Thats what I do, it would literally be impossible for anyone outside to smell it unless they maybe stuck their noise straight up to where youre ducting out. The only problem with this would maybe be FLIR or infared from choppers if you're in a uptight state... but again this is extremely rare and they cant just infared everyone's houses and even if they did its a small grow...

There a lot of quality Carbon filter/scrubber manufacturers just look around I've heard good things about phresh but I just make my own because I know its effective.. and like the other dude said make sure it matches the CFM of the fan or better yet just buy a good fan + scrubber combo. I also run 4x4 with 4 sometimes 9 plants

Smells stronger than u think. Duct it out of the basement

A carbon filter can not fully eliminate the smell of a ripening harvest...there will be some smell coming from the exhaust in the end. Usually that smell can be contained in a room but it's better to vent it outside.

I have a sealed gro room pulling air from the bottom. Carbon filter on top. Around 90 cfm. Phresh. I always seal with aluminum duct tape. Air vents in the half crawl space with exhaust muffler. I have never had a smell problem in almost 3 years. I did use an off brand the first time and almost got snagged. I have 2 sourd. 1 lemon haze, and 2 blue cheese blooming now. Open the panel. 5 minutes and the whole house stinks..

I like the smell!

My theory is I want to know if my filter doesn,'t work. My wife will !et me know. After 38 years no less!
