fem seeds and hermies

hi i was wondering how to tell the difference between fems and hermies, from fem seeds. and when to look. i have 12 plants all fem seeds, .but have 2 plants what i need to sex now. like i said i know there female, but dont know what to look for , if there hermie? early. to tell the diff. i can tell there not male, due to the pistals . but how can i tell the diff. at this early age, there 12 days of 12/12.
if so.. when do they start to poll/infect the others,?. after you start 12/12.

how many weeks of 12/12 b4 they start to poll/infect.
i need to know, cos i dont want any hermies, id rather do without any plants at all.
if im going to do it, i want to do it rite, if a jobs worth doing do it rite.lol. thats what my grandad says.
i mite be wrong but , doesnt a hermie grow diff. than a plant that got poll by a hermie ?.
any info or pics much app.

I believe fdd' is the man that would know the most about this subject. Although from what I know there is no definitive way to tell the sex of a seed.

Ah, I see what you're asking. Well it is said that the hermie gene is strongest. So I'd say to keep a closer eye on the best looking plants you have.

You're looking for balls. You'll know the difference when you see them. Don't mistake swollen calyxes for balls, I about do this on every seed grow. Too much smoke, and too much time with the plants I start seeing things that aren't there.

An early tell tale sign that I have noticed, is that instead of having a calyx one of them might be missing and instead it will have what looks like new growth coming out where the calyx would have been.

Best thing to do is wait. It will take a while for the balls to develop to a stage where they'll drop. :cough:

Don't react too soon. I did it once. Positive one was a hermie just starting... got it to my friends house and left it there. it wasn't a hermie. If your suspiscious just wait, you have plenty of time.

ive had hermies before from seed and ive never seen balls before like on a male, all ive ever noticed is at the bottom of every branch and under were every flower is, is aset of pistols growing under were every flower is, and the only way i can tell is were the pistol is, pull it off and inside will be aunformed seed, ive seen plants,pics. of plants that, have been infected by a hermie, but ive never seen a pic,or ant info about young 100% hermies from seed, and i need to know how i can tell?. i think by the time i can tell its too late and every plant turns hermie. i know you can smoke hermies but the ubformed seeds give me a horrid shooting pain in my head, like a bad headace. and like i said if i cannot tell the diff. then theres no point in me growing, for my self, and thats why i startedf to grow. cos i was sick of buying hermies and shit. cos the dealers around here havent a clue what there selling. i said to this kid that grows and sells, that his weed was hermie, and he said whats a hermie?. i said, for fuck sake, you grow and sell, and dont even know what a hermie is, stupid dickhead. my friend, got some clones from him, and the clones were from a hermie,and they were also from plants that were in flower. he didnt belive me, i tryed to explain. but i might as well being speaking another lang. when the clones grew. all 4 plants, were 100% hermie, they all had buds and were dripping in cristals, but every bud, had unformed seeds, on every bit of every bud. it likes wastes half of the bud. waste of time if you ask me.
i would be greatfull if anyone could tell me how to tell the diff. between fe and hermie from fem seeds, before they start infecting the females, if i have any hermies. from the fem seeds. pics if anyone can help. like i say i have 2 plants at 12 days 12/12. but dont know it mite be harder to tell yet because i topped all the first budtops/shoots, so everyone of them would grow double. if it works.

i keep hearing of these "unformed seeds" on female plants. i sure would love to see a pic of this. sounds a lot like swollen calyxes to me.

here is a pic of a clone took from a hermie. can you see the tear things, well each clone had 10 plus and every one , after i pulled it off, had a small poppey like seed in it, but normal bud doesnt have this.




, these are the clones i got from this dealer, i was going on about. there venus clones, i told the kid who wanted to grow them. that they looked hermie, , but he grew em anyway, but every bud on every plant was full of seeds,by week 10 and they were supp. to be female clones. half bud half seeds.
what i mean,is all the tear things like in the pics,in the first 3 to 4 weeks, kept growing these tear things and every time,, i mean every time, i pulled one, they were a seed growing inside, and as the plant got bigger as did the seeds. and female plants dont have seeds? . do they?. but every plant that has, ever done this has been hermie. i know this is not what i was first asking, but i just wanted to show the "unformed seed thing" what i was talking about.

It's said that if left to go long enough all female plants will naturally turn to seed. Each female carries both chromsomes (so does the male, but stick with the fems), so this statement alone says that all female cannabis plants are hermies. Maybe the hermie gene is a failsafe that reacts to the stress of unpollenation... obviously there are other contributing factors but unpollenation has to be the main one.

So each plant has both chromosomes, does one just lie dormant? It must do, which is why seeds are predisposed to be one sex or the other. A certain amount of the seed population per plant will be a 'natural' hermie, meaning that each chromosome will be of equal strength and they should produce both sets of pre-flowers at the same time.

The question is how long do the dormant genes lie dormant for? how much unpollenation stress does it take to trigger the hormone that must activate the dormant chromosome? And how long does it actually take for a seed to properly develop within a calyx? Maybe if unpollenation stress does lead to the plant pollenating itself only a much lower ratio of the resultant seed will ever be able to germinate...

well the venus clones that the kid had, he gave me some after hed harvested them, and there were formed seeds in it, i took the seeds and left them for 12/weeks drying, and in the summer i grew three,plants from the seeds id got, but later couldnt be bothered due to them been from hermie seeds, plus i didnt have the room,
when i went to see his harvest, some seeds were formed, some were green, and some were tiny,in the lower parts, like i say, if ever ive ever smoked a hermie, it gives me headace.
so there is know way to tell?, so if 2 of my six plants. are hermie and none drop balls, how can i tell, so, all my plants will turn hermie? due to the herms poll. the other females. what to do, how do other people tell.

here are some pics of the first plants, i grew, that were 12 weeks12/12, id got the clones from somone, they went hermie, but i think they went h. due to bad timing/lite leaks, ect. these also had full formed seeds and also small seeds too. i got 6 half oz 4 plants.

answer to what?

doesnt matter, i think ill just get some reg seeds. get a female and clone it. once i have a mother plant i should be ok. ill just get plants from clones that i 100% no are female. i should have done this before, insted of messing with fem seeds. thinking i dont think fem seeds are best, too much can go wrong.

View attachment 40210, so in the 2nd and 3rd pic on the stems.. is that normal for plants to have these tear things, esp. so small. i have clones and none ive ever done have had these, tear looking things all over them.
