fertilizer

so i'm still in the vegetative stage of growing and my plants are about 4 inches tall growing in a gallon container. i was wondering if i have a good fertilizer. i am planning on using the Shultz- Starter Plus fertilizer. It is 5-10-5 which i believe is good for the vege stage. Also it says it is a transplanting solution that promotes new roots and was wondering if i really need to transplant the plant after i use it?

i might be wrong friend, but I heard that running a 10-5-5 or something high in nitrogen content is best for the veg state. the P and K should be concentrated greater in flowering.

the first number is nitrogen, which is used for the veg state, the other two numbers are phosphorus and potassium, which you will need more of during flower. If you use the ferts with the high numbers, or the numbers you need in the wrong amount, you risk burning your plants. Try fish emulsion for N. It won't burn your plants and you can get it at walmart

well... to make a life a whole lot simpler on u.. go to the local hydro shop and buy some General Hydroponics Flora Micro and Flora Bloom... give the plants 8ml micro / 16ml bloom per every gallon of water used when feeding... feed them about twice a week in this schedule:

day 1 water
day 2 check to see if its still moist ( should be moist )
day 3 feed (water + nutes)
day 4 check
day 5 water
day 6 check
day 7 feed


then u want to flush your plants about every 2 weeks to avoid toxic salt build up.. do this by watering each plant with 2 - 3 times the containers volume ( if u have a 2 gallon pot flush with about 5 gallons of water )
this will wash away any salt build up and the plants will stay thriving.. hope this helps
