Few problems. Diagnosis?

Alright, I'm sure these problems are discussed somewhere on this website but i have no clue where. Sorry if these have been asked hundreds of times.

1. My plant (I have it trained, or tied, in an 'S' shape) just began flowering recently and some of the leaves are yellowing and dying, towards the bottom. I've read mixed things: is this bad or normal?

2. Is it good that I stopped using Ultra Thrive or can I continue using it? I'm using normal CFL bulbs and my plant definitely doesn't look nearly as big as in other grower's pictures.

3. It looks like the very tips of all of my leaves are burnt or something. And it looks like its on almost every one. What is the cause of that? Heat? Or something else?

Let me know. Thanks for your help.

This combined with problem #2 tells me you could have over fertilized your plants. Keep a watchful eye trained on them for the next few days & if the problem persists or gets worse, flush your growing medium & re-add nutrients at 1/4-1/3 less strength than you had administered to them before the problems started.

See above.

It could be PH or an overfeeding problem. What happens when you over fertilize plants is you "burn" the tips of them. If you have slightly overdone it then the plant will snap out of it within a few days to a week & start going again but if you have gone too far the plant could be stunted, suffer predator infestations from a weakened immune system, or die from toxicity. Are you keeping your PPM's & PH dialed within range? The more you keep the plants environment & growing mediums controlled, the better results you will have.
Let me know. Thanks for your help.

I'm just gonna follow you everywhere pete and agree with you but add things hehe. The only reason it would be normal for your plants to be yellow during flowering is because you've weened them off nitrogen because you want to be adding more phosph. That might be why you think you are getting mixed signals. But at the start of flowering, unless you jsut cold turkey'd nitrogen, it shouldn't be normal. Read what Pete said for further intructions hehe.

EDIT: Oh and Superthrive is a decent addidtive to use from beggining to end I've been told.

well, i actually stopped using superthrive a few weeks ago. its possible i may have over-fertilized them, but even the new leaf tips are burnt and i havn't been using the superthrive for that amount of time, which leads me to believe it is something else. they also are about a foot away from the lights so i don't think it could be heat.

and i'm a first time grower, stealth growing in my room (i still live with my parents), so i kinda went the cheap way. i don't exactly know what pH the soil is, and i used regular potting soil. but i water it like this: i have one of those water feeding orb things (which are really good to use because you can see when its ready to be re-watered, but it seems like noone has ever recommended them.) and every few days i give it a huge watering, and i also refill the orb about every day. so i don't think its a buildup of chemicals or salts. anyway, yeah. good air flow, decent lighting, maybe a bit much heat but the lights aren't close to the leaves. i don't know what it could be. and its definitly not infestation; its in my room.
