Since adding a second light to my tent, I haven't had enough room to move both lights to the top of the tent because of the carbon filter. I decided to make a cheap external filter box to gain some precious height!
Before - Carbon filter is taking up too much space! Can't raise the rear light any higher!
Some supplies - 18 gallon tote, 6" worm clamps, 6" start collar
Cut a hole in the top of the tote with a box cutter
Lock the starter collar into place
Secure the collar with some duct tape
Cut a hole for the exhaust
I found some styrofoam to support the filter in the box
Testing the fit...perfect!
Duct coming from the last tent into the tote
Filter is in place and connected to exhaust duct (don't forget the pre-filter like I did!)
Both ends hooked up
Fan hanging from bungies and hooked up to the duct
Fan and tote finished
and finally...the extra space!!
