So ive had a spider mite epedemic here for a while, and havent gotten rid of them... until now.
I cant dip my plants in things as suggested, and im sure neem oil works great, but my local stores dont carry it.
All that I have is azamax.
I was using it, but if i used it too often, it would hurt my plants, and givign the plants a 3 day break between sprays was enough for the mites to keep gaining ground.
What i finally came up with is to use the aza at half strength.
Basically, i use one tea spoon per spray bottle filled with water. The spray bottle is normal size.
I spray EVERY NIGHT as lights are going out.
After main lights are out, i use a small simple light to see what im doing, and I spray them hardcore, every leaf, underside first, and then come back from the top side.
I hit the tops of plants 2 times if they have more mites on those leaves.
On my 6th night, i think im finally cured... but im gonig to continue doing this, but probably drop it down to once every 3 days OR DILUTE THE SOLUTION EVEN MORE! and keep doing it every night.
Second way ive got them to go away is to use buhach powder.
Buhach powder is only sold online unless you live in alaska i guess.
You light this stuff on fire, its a powder, and it just sits there and smokes.
Its smoke fumes paralyze bugs i guess.
I did this in another room that is air tight, and i shut off exhaust fan just before doing it so that it stayes in the room.
I do this 20 min before lights out because i like my room to go up in temp to try and hold temp through the night because its cold here. It stays that way until the next morning, when the lights come back on, and i finally turn the exhaust fan back on.
I do this every night as well. This has no negative affects on plants at all.. and burning things makes co2, so thats a plus.
On day 6 on both methods, and i feel that they are finally gone Plants are looking great and growing faster again.
