F'ing Hortilux

so I ordered a super hps from Hortlilux. Long story short it dont fucking work. It took 3 weeks to come and I had too pay £ 16.80 on top of shipping. The thing looks pristine but when I plug it into my lumatek ballast...nothing. I live in the UK and it was shipped from california WTF infact what the fuck!!! Someone please tell me this is what they do and tommorrow when I try it it will work coz I feel like packing it all in.

Are you sure it's the bulb and not your ballast? If you are, simply email them and tell them about the defect. I'm sure they'll exchange it for you

Just doing a quick search on Google turned up some bad reviews for that ballast/bulb combo. I didn't see any solutions either. I can only vouch for what products I have seen in action, and that would be Agromax MH's and HTG Supply HPS bulbs with both lumatek(1000w) and Digital Greenhouse(600w) Ballasts. They have yet to pop on me or my friend who grows. Of course, they get replaced every 12 months.

I would get a refund and save yourself some money and hassle. I am fortunate to live near a HTG shop, they will guarantee bulbs for 1 year with instant replacements. Does the UK have those types of stores?

The ballast sayd it can run halide and sodium. Ive emailed them anyway. Ofcourse I have pay for shipping though.

The UK aint got shit really. I heard the same things but it all seemed circa 2009 they're suppised to be improved and e ballast compatible.

Their a great company if you mention this post they might replace it for free. Then they will ask you to remove this from the internet though.

I know someone that only uses Lumi ballasts with Horti bulbs. Maybe you got a bad bulb. Hortilux guarantees their bulbs. I'd email the place you purchased the bulb first then email Hortilux if you don't get the results you were looking for.

Gotta be honest the guy from Hortilux got back to me pretty quick, before the ebays vendor anyway. Yet to hear from them. He seemed willing too tslk so I sent my number will update. Do I can only afford a 600w sunmaster in the mean time. Please take a look do you think 600w will cut it.

Some bulbs just come broken it sucks! We have people who come into work all the time returning bulbs. I think they get banged around during transport. They should give ya another just have to send that one back.

Im just broke the next two weeks. Its either buy another bulb. Or pay for shipping. I gotta flip em soon. Thanks everyone for your input. Sorry about the autospell.

Ended up getting 1000w sun master hps for now. Its hot in the grow room now so I have to have the dark period in the day. More stress. Good thing about hps is it will show any light leaks from the outside so I think im good only leaks I had were through duct tape anyway.
