Finishing Flowering A Stubborn Sativa ?

Hey guys,

Got a question, I have one plant left still flowering from my last grow its obviously a very sativa dominant one and it was always the weakest plant of the grow.

Back end of flowering though she has flowered beautifully and I have a heavy plant full of bud, but the problem is she is taking up my grow room and I have seedlings waiting to go in there and need to change the light cycle for the incoming bunch.

I already germinated and potted the seeds for the next grow and did not anticipate this plant taking as long as it did, its been like 14 weeks now.

None of the pistils are red yet and the trichs are mostly clear so far, its easy got (from the looks of it) another few weeks left even if almost all of the leaves have browned off and died, its just all bud weighing heavy on stalks held up by duck tape.

Am thinking of harvesting her, but she clearly is not ready. What are my options ?

Can I finish her off in another room but not under HPS lights ? Are the seedlings fine growing under a flowering light cycle for a short while ?

What to do ?

I have the same problem. Fuckin sativas. :weed:

If you put the seedlings under the same light as that flowering sativa, you are basically doing a 12/12 from seed grow. If it was me, I would keep the sativa under the hps as you are doing, and start vegging the seedlings under CFLs on 18/6 in another area. If your intent with the seedlings is to do a 12/12 grow from seed, throw them all together under the hps on 12/12.

Another option - You COULD move the sativa to a different area and finish her off under CFLs keeping the 12/12 schedule. That would open the room up for the seedlings.

I'm assuming you only have one hps.

Just some ideas. GL

Best bet is to keep the sativa where it is under the hps and start the seedlings under CFLS until the sativa finishes.

Having the seedlings under 12/12 for two weeks won't do any harm. This Jack Herrer of mine was under 12/12 CFLs for around 2 weeks +

Lots of reasons why this won't work for you, but it might be possible with your setup, you never know:

Put the light schedule on 12/1 which will keep the seedlings in VEG mode. And for the extra hour of light, throw a black trash bag over the sativa, keeping it in the dark.

One hour a day for two weeks of being in a trash bag (double or triple bag it even) will not hurt the sativa that bad, it will keep the sativa in flowering mode, and it will allow your seedlings to not go into flower mode.

Best of both worlds.

Seedlings cant go into flowering until theyre mature enough anyways so putting a seedling in 12/12 for a week or two wouldn't cause it to flower.
