Fireworks, cops came, what to do?

I have some plants and may be slightly over my plant count. My friend is visiting and decided to light off some "aerial" fireworks. Fireworks are legal where I live but not "aerial" fireworks. I am not sure if they think it was fireworks or gun shots. They drove around the neighborhood and shined lights in my backyard where we were hiding. They looked around the neighborhood for maybe 30-60 minutes then left.

QUESTIONS: Is there any chance if they thought it was a gunshot they'd come back with a warrant or anything of that nature? Should I cut down all plants until legal? Am I being overly paranoid?

In a legal state btw.

Chances are they were just responding to a call about fireworks. They didn't witness it so they went on their way. They investigated, found nothing and went on to something else. I'd say you're fine.

From your story it sounds like the cops couldn't find anyone to beat up and violate their rights, so they've moved on to where they could do exactly that. Next victim, please.

You learned a valuable lesson, that your neighbors will call the cops if they hear anything that disturbs them. So keep the noise level way down and be extra nice to all your neighbors for a few months. Make sure you're not doing anything else that could be annoying or scaring them. I'd be a little paranoid that the neighbors might be PO'd or suspicious about something that they haven't told you about. And I'd try to get rid of my over-the-limit plants and stay below the legal limit for a while.

I just read about a guy who got busted in the same county I live in. He had an illegal grow going on (even though it's California) and he was also stealing electricity. He might have gotten away with it, but the cops found his stupid ass because he dumped a bunch of trash by the side of the road, including a utility bill with his home address. Not that you would pull such a dick move, but it illustrates how bad karma leads to bad outcomes.

If the police really thought they were gun shots, there would be a shit load of them in the area. If they thought gun shots came from your property...well, you would know because they would be all over outside your place. If they felt "a life was in immediate danger", they very well could enter.

Kick your buddy square in the balls ......then let him kick you square in the balls and quit acting like a bunch of dumbasses when you don't need any extra attention as it is .......piss your neighbors off before your plants stink .......that's a great idea ......bed time kids Lol jk. Cops are gone as long as you quit while your not ahead and over count
