First E & F grow... need help before I kill my plants. PLEASE

hi everyone. I really need some advice. I have set up an ebb and flow 10 gallon hydro system in a 4x4 grow tent with a 1000w MH light for Veg. The room is air conditioned. Has a C02 pad and the light is cooled by a six inch inline fan. No temp problems.

I germinated and sprouted the seeds in small rockwool cubes and may have put them hydroton a bit early. They all had one root coming out of the bottom and I was over excited to do this.
They are about 4 inches long and the leaves are still very small. It seems to be all stem growth since I put them in. the light is a foot and a half away. The leaves are constantly pointed up and they dont seem to be growing. this has been almost a week and a half. The growing medium is plenty moist. PH 5.75. PPM around 485.

What am I doing wrong? Or am I just impatient? Thanks for the help.

BTW they are white widow and northern lights I got from Ministry of Cannabis.

PPM's are way to high.....plants dont need any food for the first few weeks. Flush them out and hope for the best

i have done the same thing in the past with some seedlings (thank god they where just bagseeds) and over nuted them early, this caused the very small new growth to burn and never grow (i waited 3 weeks). impatience has no place in the grow room, things dont just grow faster when you feed them, here is a pic of my seedling that i just started on 600 ppm and its about 3 weeks from germ, might have killed them already but a pic would be nice.

4" seedlings under 1000w seems a bit rough. You really want a well developed root system before jamming plants under any HID light as the light will demand more nutrient uptake from the plants. I pre-veg newly rooted cuttings in 1.5" x 1.5" rockwool under a single T-5 for about a week and feed them 1/4 strength nutes before transplanting them to a bigger 3" x 3" rockwool pre-soaked in 5.5pH solution and moving them to a bank of 4 - T5 lights. By the time the 3x3 cubes need a watering (3 or 4 days) roots have started coming out of the bottom of the cubes and I know that the root system has developed enough to move them under my 1000w lights.

As drgreen said, patience is the key!

my firsts seedlings did the same thing. I made the mistake of giving them nutes way too early and putting them under too powerful of a light. I switched to a CFL for lighting and flushed them and all but one came out ok.

I agree light is too big at this stage, put them back under a fluro or raise the light to 4 ft min. Your main prob is roots getting and staying too wet in the cube. Dont flood so often. max- 2x day for 3-5 min ,no more.

To all of you saying 1000 watts is to much light for seedlings I say bullshit. If this were the case seedlings would not survive in nature outside under the sun.

Light shock, too much light for those little guys. I always put my seedling under T5's, then transplant to 4" RW cubes and under a flouro for a week then under a 1k watt MH for 3 weeks. The 1k MH is set 36" from them at that point and they bridge that gap by growing towards it. I would say get a CFL or anything smaller to veg those little guys a bit before you introduce them to the big light. If you wanna save some money I would at least double the space between your light and your plants, they will still take a week or too to come out of light shock from what they have been through

Hey thanks for all of your help guys! I just let 5 of the six plants die because they sucked. Lucky for me I knew that I was fucking things up so I had more seeds germing. I will start a journal if anyone is interested. I only have 3 NL plants in my tent now. They were well into tere second set of razor leaves with roots exploding out the bottom before I put them in. I also revived a white widow that was dying up there and threw it back in the humidity dome. I am still waiting on putting the two white widows, 1 aurora sativa :) and bubblelicious to be ready for the big light. I really appreciate everyones help and opinions. I will post pics asap.

CheerS!
