So im working with a 3 x 27ltr bucket system including rez. Air pump and air stones going in each bucket and water pump pushing the water in a circular motion only. I have a 125mm fan with carbon filter. I currently have a 20w led sitting over top of my seedlings maybe 4inchs away. Seedlings are still sitting in the tray after about 5 days of germinating. I will post pics very soonNeed more info to advise anything. You're DWC, cool. How many sites? Basic DWC or re-circ? Describe your setup, fans, what's your water like? what nutes are you going to use?
Yeah man this is my first time growing anything so I don't really know what to look at tbh lol. I had the led up way to high because I didn't how high to hang it to start with hence the stretch.Over sprouting makes me cry. Your new little one looks up at you like 'Hello world!' And we have to look down and say 'I'm sorry, I have no room for you.' You could overcrowd and try for a "sea of green".
In full disclosure, I'm fairly new to growing myself, and am always looking to improve my techniques, and you're 3 for 3 right there. I presume you sprouted your girls in their cubes, how? I've read everywhere that rock wool really likes to hang onto it's moisture, how often do/have you watered them?
They are beautsAlso I know there are a few non-growers that are members so be careful who you listen to about your girls. I found out the hard way front plant, healthy. Rear plant: poisoned after following some bad(on him) and unverified(on me) advice. The second is one of my current girls and let me tell you, this one is a fighter. She almost died on me.
How did they almost dieAlso I know there are a few non-growers that are members so be careful who you listen to about your girls. I found out the hard way front plant, healthy. Thank you for the info. I now know never to attempt such a thing hahaI was reading about how to help my girls in the last few days of flush since she won't have any nutrients. And it mentioned sugar water. It didn't say what medium it works in, it didn't state the sugar to water ratio and it didn't state when to add it. So I added 1/4 cup(~32g) to a gallon(3.8L) of water, boiled and cooled. Added that to another gallon of r.o. water and filled her bin. 2 days later she looked like that. I had to harvest her 2-3 weeks early to salvage something. It killed her roots, more brown than the nutrient staining, slimy, and had a SERIOUS funk to the smell. It might work in coir, it might work in soil, I don't know. What i did learn was that it most certainly does NOT work in DWC.
Before I left for work I moved the hydroton out of the way to get to the rockwool and it's soaking wet? Could it be a overwatering problem? I'm thinking it could be that the rockwool is staying wet for a long periods of time. Idk.. ill let the rockwool dry out abit and give the girls straight ph water no nutesCould be the bucket/ planter. Those things are huge for plants so small. One reason your soil girl is doing better right now is that her food isn't washing away. That hydroton isn't the greatest at keeping moisture and nutes up where a seedling can use it, you'll probably need to top feed them til their roots touch solution. I would hit them with a spritz or two every few hours, just water, no nutes. That should help with their sluggish growth.
