First ever grow, what to know for DWC?

This is my first ever grow. I have been reading alot and trying to gain as much knowledge as I can.

Here is my set up:
2 net pots in a Rubber-made container I painted black to avoid algi growth and one 5 gal. bucket with a net pot. I wanted 2 containers, in case I F-up on one since I am new and all...
So 3 plants. I have one air bubbler and a stone in the Rubber Made and one in the bucket.
I plan to follow the directions to a T on the Dyna-Gro list and have my PPM meter ready.

I have it all fabbed up in a locking steel cabinet 68" tall 20" deep and 36" wide, although I have the top shelf holding my phresh filter 200 CFM hooked up to a 171 CFM fan limiting the height to 57".

All that said, I am looking for feedback. I have my seeds sitting in Rockwool, 10 days from first dropping them into the cubes and watering them. They broke through the soil about 5 days go or so and still have the shell on the top and have yet to spread their first leaves. They are sitting under light and I am wattering them every day to stay wet.

When do I put the cubes into the net pots? When do I start my Dyna-Gro nutrients? Should I add a root compound yet?

First I would x the rubber maid container and get 2 more buckets if possible. You don't want them fighting for root space, and dwc there's Lots of roots. Ppm meter is good, but you also need a pH meter. Also 3 part nutrients are great but rarely enough. You may need to buy additional but I would leave money on the side and buy them as you need them/as problems arise. <<<IF YOU HAVE A STORE CLOSE BY! Don't think if you see a problem you can order a cure online in enough time.

As far as the babies go, don't worry they will shed the shell. Watering them every day is Way too much. You should always soak your rockwool in pH adjusted water only for 10 seconds. Then plant your seed 1/4" and put them in a prop tray with a humidity dome. They should not be watered again until the cubes are dry.

Transplant you babies when you see a good amount of roots out of the bottom(say 10)

Thanks for the info, I am trying to soak up all the info I can get.
Good info on the rubber made.
I got a strip ph litmus paper.
I do have a great hydro store close by, so that all works out well. Dyna Gro is a 5 part system but that said, what other nutrients might I need and how do I know I need them?

If you picked Dyna Gro as your nutrients, it sounds like you really did your homework and you'll do well. Just saying :)

Mmmmm, i just switched to DWC Bubbler buckets since my first attempt with Sunshine #4 did not turn out to well.

Just dropped my clones into the baskets. so far so good. but Checking PPM/PH is going to be a pain in the ass, i intend to move to UCDWC once i make some bank and get out of trade school. I would suggest going down to wal-mart and picking up some Chrome Duct tape to cover your lids, it seems to have dropped temps in my tent by 1-2 degrees vs black tops. I would suggest reading all of this page, lucas was a legend in back in the OG days. http://www.asklucas.com/

Wow ten seconds only?? Ever heard of your girls getting aneurisms from the air pockets in short soaked rockwool??? Don't be afraid to soak the cube dude, I soak for at least 30min in R/O water before I even soak em in my seedling nutes...

Been cloning many many years in all forms and on the norm i get 98% to 100%
And i never soak for 30min i just poor phed water over the cubes and good to go!

in my easy clone i dont even ph the water lol just fill and add bennys and 7 to 10
days theres roots, at this point i start adding nutes and phing :)

Imo in r/w its important to prep with phed water so the new roots have the right
start, unlike the easy cloner where theres no medium
