First Grow. A dozen autos in a 5x5 with 1000w hps.

I started my seeds 12/15. The pictures show where I am today. Dark devil, purple mazar, blackberry, blue dream, blueberry, widow, pineapple, jack, and the list goes....... two failed and we are not here to talk about those. For the setup: 3 gallon fabric pots. Bottom 1/3 is M3, middle 1/3 is half and half roots organic and half M3, and top 1/3 is all roots organic. Top dressed with DE and Gnat Nix. In a 5x5 tent I ran a 600 hortilux the first couple weeks and now I'm running the 1000. The schedule is 24 hours a day. No dark. Temps have been kept between 73 and 80. Staying on the lower end now. I have plenty of air circulation, watering seems to be on track. At this point I am pretty sure they are starving for more flowering nutrient and plan to give them a good dose of GH Florabloom in the morning (3ml/L). Depending on their response I will decide whether or not to top dress them. Nitrogen was a bit high through veg so adding a top dress with any nitrogen worries me but they are also a lot stronger now than when they were seedlings. Let me know if you think I should do differently and any input will be appreciated. This is a first for me and I am very happy so far- I have put the time into my research and feel I am on the right track but I'm betting there is an autoflower pro who would be laughing at me.

No other opinions or advice? I know as a first timer I'm doing really well but always open to constructive criticism and advice. Noticed this today in the first picture.....any ideas? Second picture is just porn.

i would say veg them out a lil longer, top em, and stakes for support maybe

They are growing autos so vegging longer isn't going to work.

To the OP

I would say get a timer and run photoperiod plants not auto's. And there is no need to mix your growing medium up like you have. You're just complicating things. Keep it simple and you'll be happier and have less issues.

Good luck and happy growing.

Im not currently interested in photos. The idea of mixing mediums was to make things easier and I think it has. Autos cant handle the heat of pure super soil and cool soil just doesn't have the juice to keep them healthy all around. I have kept everything pretty simple and don't have many issues as far as I know.

Autos can take heavy feeding IMO
plants look good. keep it up

oh i didnt see that they were autos. my mistake..

Most of my research says the opposite but I'm starting to think you are right, they are FAST and HUNGRY. Not bad for a first timer right?
Yeah they look great.
Don’t listen to the masses about autos. I Top , LST and Defoliate my autos. It makes them take longer. But you get more bud and harder buds.

They don’t look hungry to me, just the one in the back has something going on. Feed lightly always..... feeding heavy isn’t ever an answer. Let them yellow some before feeding.... then you KNOW they are hungry. And like someone else said make your life easier and don’t change the soil so much. Pick a soil and amend it, learn what your soil needs. Your plants will thank you

I think they are looking more hungry today. Did some rearranging backs are in front now. I plan to do a top dressing before my next watering. The more yellow girls will obviously get more than the greener ones but none of them will get the full "recommended dose" on the packaging; i know its to much. I plan to do just the one grow per year. I expect to get plenty to last me at least a year as long as the next couple months go half way decent. The reason for my mixed dirt is so they have a little bit of everything, not one extreme or the other. I think that is what is keeping them looking so healthy so in my opinion the mixed dirt is making things easier for me. I know they are on the right track and I think they just need a little boost- particularly in the nitrogen department. Im running all different strains and I know each has their own specific ideals but so far they are all doing pretty well.

Next time I may top, LST, and defoliate. This is my first grow and I'm expecting to get enough to last me till i do it again next year. I do like the sound of denser, harder buds though. This is kind of a minimal effort first attempt. I just want to get the basics down then I can build on that.

Sounds like you’ve got it figured out. Keep up what your doing

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I don't think there is much I can do differently at this point. Keep up with lite doses of nutes, keep watering on track, and just watch the grass grow. You guys think the 1000 hortilux running 24 hrs a day in the 5x5 is a good amount of light? More light is an option.
