First Grow: Aerogarden Ultra Water Type Queston

Hi Everyone! This will be my first grow. I am using the new Aerogarden Ultra for my grow, I have extra lights for the veg and flowering states, I have GH nutes, PH tester, PPM meter, PH up and down, and some lovely AK47 Lowryder seeds. Now the only issue I'm facing is water. What type of water should I use? I have heard that Spring Water works great. I would use RO water, but i have no source. How about distilled water? Any tips would be helpful!

I'm growing the AK-47 Auto in my AeroGarden Extra. I started with distilled. Then I decided to switch to spring water. I'm going to switch back to distilled. I have found that the spring water has a high PH and high PPM starting point. I want to take up the PPM with nutes and not so much with the water I'm using. This is also my first grow. It's been going fairly well except for what we determined was a cal-mag deficiency. I got plenty of help on here. If you look at the questions that I posted maybe the answers I got could help you too.

Thanks for your help! Did you get the cal/mag tabs to help with your problem? If so, what type did you get?

I got this: Hydrofarm GH5312 CaMg+ Plant Nutrition, 1-Quart

From Amazon

In addition I got the Fox Farm Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom also from Amazon. I started them at about 16 days from popping up.

You started the CaMg 16 days from them popping up or the nutes 16 days after they popped?

So let me get this straight. I'll use distilled water with the CaMg and Nutes? Correct?

I think you should look for help from someone more experienced than me. Like I said this is my first grow. This stuff is what worked for me, 99% of the reason it worked was because of this forum and the experienced people here that do know what they are talking about.

If you go with distilled water I'd recommend a cal/mag supplement in at least the second week. Here is my girl in the ultra at day 35, she had a serious magnesium deficiency early on(I used distilled too) but haven't had a problem since adding calimagic.

Looks great Newbt! I'll be posting some pics of my set up tomorrow hopefully. I get the Nutes today, so i think im going to start the germination process tonight. Is this your first grow too?

Nice, should work fine..but I bet its hard to work with thin, tears easily....

I used christmas wrap (mylar) before I went with the lowes stuff...In my newer cab 2mil Mylar....
