First grow and I have some questions.

Good afternoon. This is my first grow and my plants have vegged for 5 weeks now. They are all around 18 inches except for an obvious sativa who is 2.5ft tall. This said sativa is the only plant who is preflowering and showing to be a female. After the first night of 12/12 lighting she grew white hairs on almost every node, which I am excited about. My question is that the other plants have not shown their sex yet, and I wanted to know how long does it take for male plants to become, for lack of better words, fertile with pollen? I check the sex everyday and will be getting rid of any males that pop up, but how long does it take for them to mature and pollinate? I don't want to miss out on this healthy female that is already shooting up and out nicely by her being pollinated before I get the guys out, but I don't want to kill off any possible females either. How long under 12/12 is long enough before I just run with the plant/plants I know to be female without risking ruining my grow. Any help would be appreciated. laphter

Usually 1/2 weeks. Every plant is diff. Just keep looking for pollen sacks and little clusters of banana like balls. If you see the white v shapes pistils usually this denotes females

Thanks for the info. I did some more looking around and it seems like 4-5 weeks into 12/12 is the time they drop and open. I should have them identified and chopped down by then. Thanks again.
