First Grow!!!!! Any and All help is Much appreciated

I am looking to begin my first grow, I have never done this before so i have decided that i am going to start small. I want to start with one plant at first, I have a handful of seeds i have saved over time that i am going to germinate within the next week or two. I am having trouble trying to come up with a plan for my setup.

Im planning on building a small grow box most likely with a 2' by 2' base and 3' high (Im thinking this is more then enough room for one plant) i want to keep the size as small as possible, while still getting a decent yield from the plant.

I work at a small garden center so most of the materials i need i can get relatively easily. I know that my soil mixture should consist of an organic type of soil, with a sand and perlite/vermiculite mixture. Again since this is my first grow i do not want to get ahead of myself so i want to keep things as basic as possible so i can learn as i go.

I will have a small ventilation hole and fan built into my box and i plan to use 2 40w CFLs (This should be enough light correct?)

I will keep this updated but as of now these are my plans any help/tips/criticism is GREATLY appreciated I am excited to start this grow and perfect my skills

best tip I can give you, considering I'm on my first grow as well, is research, research, research. I've learned quite a bit with google searches. Coming here is a good start too, this is the only site I signed on with. Good Luck.

You may want to start with more then one if your seeds are not feminized just in case it's a male then you'll have to start again

I'd advise you to take 3 40W CFL instead of 2

I think more light would definately help! Good luck.

Sound advice.

75 degrees

Yes get 1 2700k bulb and other 2 6400k for veg and switch it for flower with 2 2700 etc....just a preference to have both spectrums!
