First grow, Closet, 3 sour diesel 2unknown

I would like to start off by saying I have little actual expierience growing cannabis but have had a succesful garden the last couple years and all my house plants are alive(2years and running), so i think its time i try again and i encourage comments and suggestions as I am new to growing, kind of,.
Finally the time has come. This will be my first sucessful(hopefully) grow. Its been years since i have attempted (10+) and failed, mostly because i lived at home and was just a teenager. I have a 2x3x8 closet split into two levels to maximize the small space and be able to veg and flower at the same time.View attachment 2856321 I still have to finish the upper level and get my lights ready for flowering. I also have a few lighting and ventilation questions that i will get to later for you expierenced growers. Heres a rundown on what i have. Seeds are bagseeds from a guy who moves quite a bit of good stuff, 3 sour diesel and 2 unknowns, i also have a seed order on the way which i wont start unless these plants turn out all male or herm. It is day 7 and i have 2 85w cfls on the 5 seedlings 6500K 4750lumen bulbs. I have more cfls to put on the plants when they get bigger. When should i add more light?View attachment 2856327 This is what they look like now, lights are 1-3" away and i made up some reflectors for them, BTW the pic, i lifted up the reflectors for the pic. 18/6 lighting. Only watered once since they have been up and misted them at least once a day. Soil majestic earth growers mix, ingredients are canadian spagnum peat moss, perlite, gypsum, dolomitic limestone, and i ammended with more perlite and vermiculite and a very small amount of blood meal(1/4) of what it said on the bag for the aprox 2/gal of soil i mixed. Sound ok? am i missing anything that will help more? I have GH floro series, one of the performance packs or something, be here tomorow. Ventilation for the room needs some tweaking, with just lights and a small fan the closet gets really hot, like 95ºF+. I have a 4" carbon are scubber filter that isnt hooked up to my ventilation yet, which is a 6" Suncourt inline fan, venting strait up. With this running my closet stays at a perfect 80ºF and pulls fresh air from under the door. Problem is when i put the filter on the end of the vent It greatly reduces air flow. So do i just need a more powerful fan? what do you recomend? For flowering i only have 1 150w HPS light. I have been considering getting a 400w light as this seems like a good light for the space, and i would have the extra 150w if i wanted to quick flower a topping to check sex, does this sound right? I have been doing a ton of brousing and reading over the past month while i got my settup ready.

The set up sounds good if you can do something about the temps being so high. Add more fans or find a way to run a duct from your air vent to closet! We've been growing our r.k.s. in a standup shower with just a fan and humidifier. In the day we leave the curtain up so the temps stay around 74-80 and using the bathroom exhaust to take out old air. And good ole fox farms soil, and cfls. (we had a 150 w hps but kept having probs with it so we have stuck to the cfls) Nothing fancy at all! It has worked very well for us. If you can find a way to bring those temps down you shouldnt have any probs, but anything over about 85 is to high. Good luck with your grow hopefully you get some good buds from it.

Managing temp has been my biggest challenge. I made the air inlet a little bigger under the door and switched out my fan that was circulating air inside the closet and picked up a honeywell aircirculating fan, 50% off at target, 8$ not bad, air is moving within the closet much more and more air is flowing in taking some of the pressure off the cheapo fan I got. I will keep this grow updated, at least once a week with pics.

Marking the one week point with the seedlings looking great I added two 42w cfls to the set up bringing me up to 256 true watts, should be good to veg for the next week :)

Day 8 Took a couple pics when i got home today after watering them, havnt done anything but misted them for 4 and a half days, since it took that long for them to dry out to the bottom. They all look great except one is much smaller than the others. I didnt realize how green these bad boys were until i took them out of the light and little bit. I recieved my GH flora series performance pack nutes. Wish i could have started out with the rapid start. I will be starting will very very low doses of nutes on these plants to acclimate them. I need to run to the store and grab a couple extra spray bottles so i can use a different one for each nute mix. I will alternate waterings, one with nutes, one with RO water. I have been hearing something about the need for CalMag when using RO water so i will order some up just in case i need it later. I am still combating the heat in the closet. If this weather stays cool like this, it will really help me stabilize the temps in the room, it was 79-81 all day today. Hope thats not too high. They are getting plenty of fresh air with the fans always running. 6.jpg5.jpg4.jpg

Check out the bio box for all your nutes. Its like 30 bucks online. Its worked great for our grow and it has everything you need for veg and for flower. What is your humidity sitting at for the plants?

I Almost ordered the bio box but went with GH Flora Performance box. It looks like good stuff and i have read good things about it, but the bio box is on the list of things i want. My humidity is almost constant 29-33%.

Posting a note for myself. As this is a journal, right? Pots were dry to the bottom exept the smallest one. Made a mix of my flora series, did the conversions and mixed 1.5L of RO water with .5-.75ml floraMicro .5-.75ml floraGrow .5-.75mlFlora bloom and one drop(equal to 1/20ml). I watered with this solution and only used 750ml between 5 seedlings. If i figured correctly, my does is one half the dose recommended for seedlings. No pic till i hit day 14, but they look good, hope i didnt screw up the feeding. This is where someone with some real experience to show me would help. And i could use some better measuring equipment, idealy lab grade. On my list of things to get.
