First Grow Ever (Organic + LED)

This will be the first grow I've ever done. As a Canadian I'm aiming to use as much products from up here in Canada as possible. I'm also trying to go as close to 100% organic as I can get. I'm doing this mostly as a hobby so I don't want to break the bank, so cost will play a factor in all my products. I really don't consume much cannabis since my employer is a dick. We have random drug testing and incident drug testing. They still use the archaic method of urinalysis to check for THC. Anyways!...

I will make mistakes along the way, I'm sure of it. I want to have fun and produce a great product at the end of this grow. If you have any tips or pointers feel free to send me a msg. I'll post those in this thread with my response to keep things cleaner and more organized looking.


THE SEEDS:
(I'll be running 1 seed of each)

Lavender (Lineage Genetics)
LSD (Barney's Farm)
Gorilla Cookies (Expert Seeds)
Critical Orange Punch (Dutch Passion)


THE SOIL:

Peat Moss + Sea Soil Compost + Pearlite
The peat and compost are mixed at a 50:50 ratio and then added 25% pearlite to that total mix.


THE NUTRIENTS:

Mycorrhizae (Root Rescue Transplanter MS-CS)
Liquid Seaweed (MARPHYL Marine Phytoplankton Soil Enhancer)
Molasses (Wholesome Organic Molasses)
Grow and Bloom Nutrients (General Hydroponics FloraNova)
Humic Acids (General Hydroponics Diamond Nectar)
Flower Booster (General Hydroponics KoolBloom)
Calcium-Magnesium (Advanced Nutrients Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra)


THE LIGHT:

MEIZHI 600W LED Grow Light, Reflector-Series, Full Spectrum, Dual Switches


I'll try to post as much information as possible about my grow and the products. You will notice that I won't be acting like a grow-scientist along the way unless I run into issues. I won't blab about pH, PPM, etc. Not in my first grow anyways. This is a noob grow thread for noobs...and anyone interested!

Day 1 - The Seeds

Left them to soak in water for ~20 hours

Day 2 - Wet Paper Towel

Due to time constraints, they will only be there for ~18 hours. The plate (with another plate on top) is sitting on my nice warm modem. I'll be throwing them in soil, popped or not, when I wake up first thing in the morning. I'm flying out to work for 7 days so my wife will be watering them while I'm gone.

7 days after seeds went into dirt

1 week since seeds broke through the dirt. I will be using this for my grow days.

Temp: 25-26°
Humidity: 71-74%
Watered today with just plain water. No nute's

-=Day 11=-
Watered with nute's today. Mixed up molasses, liquid seaweed, Diamond Nectar and FloraNova Grow.
Noticed the little girls are starting make the tent smell a little skunky already. Wasn't expecting this so soon!

-=Day 18=-
Transplant day!
Got home last night from working out of town for a week. While I was gone my little fan fell off the post. My wife put it back up but ended up pointing it at one of my plants (bottom left). Looks like it got some wind burn (brown spotting) and lost a couple days worth of growth. After transplant I fed my nutrient mix fairly diluted. Maybe 1/4 strength at most. Just to give my soil a little extra kick to start things off.

These girls STINK! Wow! Carbon filter will be put up this week. I'll probably be topping them too this week. Looks like they are starting their 5th - 6th nodes right now. I'll let them get settled in first.

Glad to see your guys sprouted without waiting for the taproot

I’m also on the first 24 hours of paper towel. Making sure kept moist. Use a spray bottle to ensure the paper towels stay wet. I know you are past that part.

May I give a tip of advice:

When using fertilizer use less. Less is more. You don’t want to over ferlizer beyond saving. A guy in another thread made that mistake.

If you need to feed less but more frequent you avoid over feeding and running into ubrepairable burn.

Topped all 4 today. Looks like I pinched the 6th node (maybe 7th?). Hard to tell since this is my first grow and I'm not entirely sure

I have run Barneys LSD before, nothing but great things to say about it. Great yielder for sure.

Plants are doing good!

Last week I trimmed off the bottom 2 nodes. Fed them my nutrient mix 8 days ago. The back 2 are growing very Sativa like, front like Indica. Still more room to grow until flower! My house stinks a bit too haha

LSD (in the picture on the left) and Lavender are 15" tall. Critical Orange Punch (in the picture on the right) and Gorilla Cookies are 12" tall. Looking like day 38 will be flip day before I head out of town to work for a week.

Gave the plants 15 hours of light instead of 18

First day of 12/12 with the "Flower" switch turned on. Let the stretch begin!

Recap:
- 36 days of grow
- running all organic nutrients, diluted to ¼ to ½. Last feed was full strength.
- 5 gallon home Depot buckets with organic soil
- temps were around 27 (celcius) first few weeks and 25 for the last 2 weeks
- humidity was about 82-84% the first few weeks and low 70's the last 2 weeks
- topped all 4 once
- no LST this first grow, although 2 Gorilla Cookies and Critical Orange Punch could have really used it

Gave them a really good watering. Going out of town to work for 9 days. Can't wait to see how they look when I get back home!

Haven't seen these girls in a week and WOW are they stretching fast! I did some minor trimming on the lower part of the plants today. Setup the scrog net to help support the branches and spread out the canopy. Starting to look like a 4'x4' tent can handle two 600w LED lights instead of one. The girls are a little scraggly. Maybe they'll bush out a bit in the next couple weeks.

I can't seem to upload pics anymore. It keeps saying a server error occurred. Any ideas?!
